SF Bay Area to LA -- what's the best plan?

If you start at San Ramon with 100% SOC, you could drive to Kettleman City and charge it up to 80%-90%. If you have HA set on 80MPH on I-5 and reduce your speed up the Grapevine to speed limit, you will range LA metro without any issue.

LA to San Jose on a single charge

Like everyone said, why bother with non stop. You still need to take a bio break and stretch your leg. We went from Tri-valley Bay Area down to Highland in November. We made a 30 minutes stop at Kettleman City for a quick charge and for lunch. EA at Kettleman City is fairly reliable and it...

    Long drive, no chargers

Sorry, old habit of still calling Palisades Tahoe by the old name, Squaw Valley.

    Long drive, no chargers

Assuming you'll leave Squaw with full charge, you will lose some range going from Squaw to the 395. Since it is winter and you will likely take it easy on the 395, 135 miles shouldn't be an issue.

Electric cars don't need better batteries. America needs better charging networks

Let's hope these charging hubs will be wise spread as Tesla SuperCharger. https://insideevs.com/features/697097/mercedes-charging-hub-usa/

Consumer Reports rating of the Touring in Aug 2023 issue.

I wouldn't go that far. Their subjective and rating doesn't match what consumers are buying. For example, CR gave Mazda Millenia a best buy rating in the early/mid 90s. People bought Camry, Accord, Maxima, ES300 instead.
