“penny wise but pound foolish” change in roof specifications

Just got an Email this Sunday morning from Susanne at the Riviera beach service center. Our family owned Six Teslas, and although we were treated, within industry norms, never did I get an email on Sunday morning to advising me on the status of my car that arrived the night before. I am not...

    Brick or Turtle Incidence

Riviera cervice center has the car. I am hoping it is something simple like maybe the 12V battery voltage drops too low? Most electronic modules have a low voltage protection. The Lucid has been great in taking care of all the service details. Better than anything we ever had from the German or...

    Brick or Turtle Incidence

Yes! Touch screen functions were working so I suspect the touch screen is somehow a separate screen layer placed over the display screen ? Car was just picked up and on its way to the Riviera Beach service center. As it always happens, the screens came back to life when the tow truck driver...

    Brick or Turtle Incidence

Unfortunately this morning the screens went dead once again. Waiting to hear back from the Riviera Service center. Seems as if the module illuminating the screens has a mind of it's own.

    Brick or Turtle Incidence

All screens remained blank yesterday following a normal entry with key fob in pocket. Could put car in drive (no visual). Called Customer care and managed to get back to normal after a reset. Strangely enough everything seem to work. The radio was working, fan speed could be raised up and down...

Enthusiast Canceling after the Launch event - in Depth Reasons/discrepancies noted

Enthusiast Canceling after the Launch event - in Depth Reasons/discrepancies noted

Just speculating, I see a 20% in HV battery weight reduction dropping to 18 modules from 22. I see all kinds of 12 V motors being eliminated (soft closing doors, shades, massage seats, power front trunk, FWD components and associated cooling hoses etc. I am guessing around 700 pound weight...

    "Charging Error"

Never had an error and have used the Lucid charger, and an Old 40 A Tesla charger with an adapter.

    Brick or Turtle Incidence

What component failures force the car to enter Turtle mode? Based on my experience , Turtle mode is not an ICE style turtle mode , where a car can be driven gently to a safe location, it was more like moving nice and easy and boom? Given the number of cars that are having problems with the drive...

    Test Drive

No handles in the front. It does have them in the rear. It's not really a problem for me but the car does have large A pillars and the opening and the roofline is low to the ground for aero efficiency. I had the same problem with our Taycan.

Munro on 14-50 outlets for EV charging, and other worries

Often failures are due to connections not being torqued down properly. A loose connection can create enough resistance to become a heat source that in an enclosed environment can raise the wire temperature to melting and/or igniting nearby materials. I suspect we will see changes to the code...

    Test Drive

5'9" and older than you. Other than an occasional bump on the head when entering, followed by my wife's comment that I should loose the spare tire to make it easier to bend down a bit more, the car drives like no other. My Wife's IX is a lot easier to enter, rides like a RR, but no match for the...

It's an option. Don't like it? don't get it. I personally don't agree with it but I see no problem if someone want's it.

    Recall

The Rivian recall, other than the inconvenience of driving to the Service Center, took just five minutes to check and torque the upper joint bolt. Extremely well organized. Looked like the Penske team changing tires on a race car.

    Rear door sunshade rattle

Zero "noise" issues with the car approaching first year of ownership. I wonder if I just got lucky, or the majority of cars are "noise" free.

    Range question

We have 3 EV's and with the exception of the R1T, that is used locally and manages 2.6m/kWh, the IX and the DEP driven mostly at 75+ MPH during 400 plus mile runs, average 3.1 m/kWh plus 10% on calm days. 3.m/kWh was also the number we were getting with the Plaid while we owned it. We use the...
