    To Order or Cancel?

I see your point - I was merely answering the OP’s inquiry, and this comparing the trunk of the Air to the trunk of the MS. I agree that the Air has a spacious trunk for a sedan…but the MS is a hatchback and has dramatically more.

    To Order or Cancel?

I will answer your question based on what appears to be your primary motivation: You are tired of Teslas and ready to try something new and fresh. If that is your primary motivation, then the answer is a very clear "Yes you should move on to a Lucid Air." I know this from experience, because I...

    CarPlay is here! - Megathread

I haven’t had a car with wireless CarPlay, but I find wired CarPlay very handy for music, messaging, Waze - and most importantly, voice command of the phone, since Alexa in the Lucid currently “does not support” voice dialing. It is the car’s biggest failure, in my opinion.

    Arizona

You are correct that the accelerator pedal feels “heavy” in the Air compared to Tesla. Having driven a MS for 10 years (!), I found the Lucid pretty concerning initially. The pedal is just not silky smooth and effortless like the MS. But once you put away the Tesla, you get used to the Lucid...

    Long-time lurker, first-time poster

Welcome, Len and everyone else at Lucid Motors! We are all pulling for you. Having owned my DE for 3 weeks and 500 miles, I can tell you it is a phenomenal achievement. And everywhere I go, people are snapping photos and video and talking to me about it. Congratulations to your team on a...

    Regen Question

Same here. Whether you’re in Smooth, Swift, or Sprint, the “high” regen works the same.

    Rivian Delivery Timeframe

I saw my first Rivian R1T today. It’s smaller than I expected. About the size of an older Ford Ranger. I sure hope the Gravity comes out by 2023.

    Software question

Navigation works pretty well, yes. About like the MS always has. You don’t even have to push the voice button. Just driving along you say “Alexa, navigate to ___” and for me, it almost always works (as long as the business is currently listed online). If you specify the exact address, it works...

    WTB Dream Edition

Alex, in my opinion you would not be doing a bad thing to pay $250k (or at least close to it). The more time I spend with my DE, the more in love with it I become. I crave driving it. I would not sell it for $250k....

    Lucid and quality Vs Taycan?

The problem was that the trunk opening was too short. The depth would have been sufficient, even with seats up. But the opening is just not very tall. I tried removing the well cover so it was nice and deep...the box still would not fit into the opening. Maybe Lucid will make a Shooting Brake...

    Independent EV Mechanics…..

I believe 1) yes, and 2) yes. Trained technicians working for Tesla, Lucid, Rivian, etc. will stop working for them and open their own shops. That's what always happens with BMW, Mercedes, etc. technicians. As long as they have access to the software and other complicated diagnostics.

    Software question

Maybe I'm a weirdo but I move my steering wheel frequently, depending on where I'm driving (highway, twisty roads, city, etc). Maybe I need to reboot...my back-up camera also is slow to load when the car has been "sleeping"

    Lucid and quality Vs Taycan?

If I could only have one car, it would probably need to be a Model S or an SUV. Today I tried to put a 24"x24" box in the trunk of the Lucid. Didn't fit. Too tall. But, Ithis is the reason I have an 8-car garage. ;)

    Features list?

I have a DE. The feature set is mostly comparable to Bentley, high-end Audi, high-end Mercedes, Aston Martin. The lack of Apple CarPlay is comparable to 1980s Yugo and all Teslas.

Does the energy speedo annoy anyone else?

Ha ha. Yes it does bother me. I wish they would make the instrument panel able to be altered like Tesla, Range Rover, Mercedes, Jeep, etc. I really don't like that it is fixed and the right side says "Air" and the left side tells me how many miles and kw/H I have gone since last charge (wtf who...

    Features list?

Which feature specifically are you wondering about? it has auto dimming mirrors, power rear window shades, soft close doors, heated/cooled seats, massage seats, power steering wheel adjustment, extending thigh support seats, auto headlights but NOT auto high beams (yet)

    Software question

My comment on this list would be that "yes, these all work reliably," but the caveat is that the manner in which they work is sometimes poorly designed. For example, moving the steering wheel is done on the lower screen instead of on the steering column like every other car built since 1910. You...

    Lucid and quality Vs Taycan?

I have DE #305, and have put almost 500 miles on it. Here's my perspective: I spent a weekend with a Taycan Turbo S, thinking I was going to buy one to replace my aging Model S P100D. By the end of the weekend, I was very ready to give back the Taycan and go back to my old Model S. The...
