    First EV? Kind of surprising

track the DE at Road America…that sounds fun!

Would you sell your DE for what you paid

I did a little instantaneous 65-135 mph blast tonight to show an aggressive Mustang GT that was tailing me exactly what I was driving. My wife was screaming at me and my kids were laughing hysterically. This car is truly sick.

    New member. Taking my chances.

As a kid I was into r/c cars and I remember preferring electric to nasty loud gas racing cars. And I recall being terribly disappointed to learn how real cars work, with combustion engines and transmissions or torque converters and wondering why they weren’t designed just like my electric r/c...

How Long Will These Cars Last?

The real question is "How long do you want it to last?" My Model S P100D is about 5 years old and has had virtually NOTHING repaired (nor maintained). I literally have never had it serviced for any reason at all. The UI software (phone, nav, voice commands, etc) is slowing down (I am on the...

Hmmm. My delivery advisor taught me to hold the black Lucid credit card thing up against the black A pillar (between front and back doors, driver side) just above the camera. You actually lay the card against that part of the car. It causes the car to lock and reset itself. Service advisor...

Approximately the same for me. One thing that helped is I did the hard reset (holding the card key against the door pillar). That seemed to speed up the unlocking process, which is now virtually instant IF the car is already "awake." Still slow to wake up, though. I still don't understand why...

Smart Charging via Lucid App vs Smart Charging App?

You can turn charging "on" or "off" on the app, and check charging status (how full battery is, how many miles/hr it is adding) but you CANNOT program it to charge at a specific time using the app or the car. The only way currently to program delayed charging (for example at home if you have...

    Release Version Megathread

You haven't been invited to upload 2.1 yet. Send them an email through the "24/7 Customer Care" link on the hamburger top left corner of the app home page. Then invite to 2.1 appears on the Shield page.

Would you sell your DE for what you paid

I stand corrected. FWIW, this morning the Lucid service technician was at my home changing my tire (bulge), and I used the opportunity to show him the slow waking from sleep - even though I have 1.2.1. He said he was going to put in a service note - and said that the Lucid techs always use the...

Would you sell your DE for what you paid

My friend, who is a VP of software development at Starz, says it will be virtually impossible to fully “fix” any software problems in any car (Tesla, Lucid, etc) because the OTA updates are just “patches” and they’ll never be able to identify all of the necessary patches in billions of lines of...

Thanks for having me! Torn between the Air GT or keeping my current car (CT5-V Blackwing)

I personally love the Blackwing and I guarantee it will appreciate in value as the last of the V-8 hypersedans. Especially since it’s a stick. From your post, the best solution is to kick your buddy’s car out of your garage, or else your wife’s (you chooose). Keep the Blackwing, enjoy it...

Thanks for having me! Torn between the Air GT or keeping my current car (CT5-V Blackwing)

This is the best Air review out there (along with Jon’s of course!). Anyone doubting their decision to take delivery should just watch this for reassurance.

I found a solution to closing the garage door: I’m going to replace all my garage doors with Alexa-enabled openers. That way I don’t have to deal with Homelink popping up or disappearing at inopportune moments. I’ll just say “Alexa, close the garage door.” 😀. (Or else just yell to my wife out...

Would you sell your DE for what you paid

In my opinion, you should take delivery of this rare and spectacular car. If your wife is driving it, there are no software issues that will put her in harms way. I personally have not experienced getting locked into the car and can’t envision how that could occur, ever. The software issues are...

Would you sell your DE for what you paid

Ha ha. Yes, my wife won’t drive it either. The “on” button is the brake pedal (put your foot “on” it, and the “off” button is your feet hitting the ground and your hand closing the door.

Would you sell your DE for what you paid

If you use the key like every “other” car, it is 0.0 seconds, every time. It’s only delayed if you use the app or phone key

Would you sell your DE for what you paid

I agree with this. First car I’ve owned that I had to plan ahead to use. I’ve trained myself to open the app on the phone a few minutes before leaving so the car will be “awake” by the time I get out to the garage.

I would equate it more to dating a supermodel.

Would you sell your DE for what you paid

I personally would not. The Air drives incredibly well. The Air DE is a 1,111 hp monster that is also supremely comfortable, silent and handles beautifully. The Air GT and Touring will be just as satisfying, frankly, because I never use the full power the DE has available - you just can’t do...
