Car Washing...what are your tips and tricks

Please note that in some ways, brushless car washes are worse for your finish/chrome/wheels that cloth agitation/brushed car washes. For a brushless car wash to get your car clean, it has to use both HIGH and LOW pH cleaners. Both caustic and acidic. A pH neutral soap will NOT clean dirt...

Car Washing...what are your tips and tricks

As luck would have it, I just installed my new pressure washing and car detailing set up. I have spent hours (or days) researching, watching some of the GOOD YouTube videos and learned a lot. 1. Yes, the correct pressure washer is the perfect way to wash the car. All top detailers do...

TPMS and After Market 19" Winter Wheels/Tires

Great info, thanks. Is there a certain frequency or manufacturer of TPMS unit we need? Since my aftermarket winter wheels are all assembled without TPMS, not sure its worth it to dismount and install TPMS until new tyres are needed. If I had known this was going to be added, I would have put...

It works for any Lucud tire size: 19, 20 or 21, since they all have the same diameter.

    Lucid Home Charger Plug

@borski Correct and thanks. Strangely, when I previously hit @, names popped up - not now on my damn new iPad. But they do on the PC browser. Must be User error. Anyway, its @DeaneG fault, as I have told him several times to change his handle to DEAN-O - much easier to remember and rolls...

Exactly. I often wonder when people say Electrician, is the person a licensed, journeyman, or a handyman that does wires. Then again, I have seen licensed electricians that primarily do remodels that do not understand torquing 10 gauge and larger wire lugs.

Slow leak = small nail or screw. Likely still in there. Our bolt in TPMS do not tend to leak like old cheap valve stems - and our cars are not that old.

Wife picked up new Audi a few days ago, and low and behold, 35 ratio Conti performance tires. Checked TP when we got it home. Tires were at 27 - cold, while the "comfort" Audi recommendation minimum was 35. Like @borski said, you gotta stay on top of it - especially low profile.

WANTED: Floor Mat "COVERAGE" Opinions from Owners of Tuxmat, 3D and LinerX

My tuxmat rears just came back in stock today, and were just shipped today. They look like great custom and deep and side coverage - but I think i have had ONE person in the rear for the last six months. Depends if you have rug rats with muddy or snowy or mag chloride encrusted shoes. Seeing...

WANTED: Floor Mat "COVERAGE" Opinions from Owners of Tuxmat, 3D and LinerX

I had 3D mats for one day, sent them back and got Tuxmats. For Colorado, they are perfect. The best part of Tuxmats is the dead pedal and tunnel coverage near your right foot. Colorado ain't sunny southern California. 6 months of use and they look new. AND GOOD NEWS, they are just now back...

Time for something fun: a car memory test

Want to be truely connected? Rack and pinion manual steering. Not just every limb, but your brain and ears. You feel and hear the shift points. You are one with the car.... That is not the future, sadly. And you are not that old.

Time for something fun: a car memory test

Driving a stick was always part of the UK licensing. Not sure if it still is. Still see reports of people dying because the passenger could not drive a manual.

Time for something fun: a car memory test

That's ok, I approve! I will never forget how on my 72 911, the clutch, brake, gas pedal and steering wheel had to ALL be used together for high speed cornering to clip the apex. Or the backend would breakaway. I don't think I have double clutched in two decades.

Munro on 14-50 outlets for EV charging, and other worries

Worse, the master electrician will be at a desk in the shop, the journeyman will be outside in his truck smoking and eating doughnuts, and some poor schmuck kid pulls the be wire. I have seen Masters be sloppy and lazy, like still using cheap back stabbing receptacles, overload conduit, run...

Munro on 14-50 outlets for EV charging, and other worries

My God @DeaneG , to prove you point, look at the post below yours where someone used 14 gauge for grounding in a 30 amp circuit and relied on some random dude in HD for advice.

Munro on 14-50 outlets for EV charging, and other worries

Sorry to tell you, what you did a clear and definite violation of the NEC, and every local code. If an electrical inspector saw that install, it would be do flagged. The grounding wire must be 10 gauge, if your current conductors are 10; or 8 gauge grounding wire if your current conductors are...
