    Gravity Testing!

Fingers crossed that you're right. The new side profile appears distinctly better than the old--tho I'm not crazy about the look of the spoiler. Props to our members here who--in 24 hours--gave this video closer analysis than the Zapruder film!

    Key Fob Lanyard

Maybe the trunk/frunk can't be opened with just the card?

    WSJ Lucid Touring Review

I think maybe it takes travel outside the earth's atmosphere (c/f Space Odyssey 2001)...otherwise every earth-bound car will have some combo of wind and tire noise...My Touring has a pronounced "turbine" whirl which I kinda like, and expect to eventually ignore

    Key Fob Lanyard

Fob question---why not just give the fob to the valet rather than the card?

    Fan and Temperature Buttons

WSJ's Dan Neil mentions this in his review of the Touring this weekend: "The Air has a few crazy-making qualities. The lustrous metallic toggles mid-dash, controlling temperature and fan speed, will blind you in bright sunlight." Except for a few other nits, he raved about the car.

    Locked in car

I've not been locked in the car, but I find it responds much more consistently to the fob than it does to my phone (ie mobile key). if I approach with just the phone, more often than not the car does nothing until I push the handle in. (It usually responds when I'm carrying the fob too). And...

    WSJ Lucid Touring Review

After Tidal, what do you consider the best source? Is SXM via cellular less good than the satellite version? FM?

    WSJ Lucid Touring Review

I wouldn't say "silent"--in the garage trying to experience Tidal Atmos, the fans at the lowest speed are intrusive Driving below 40+ MPH, the "turbo whine" is very apparent , and increases/decreases depending on speed (certainly not as pronounced as Cayenne twin turbo--with gear...

    WSJ Lucid Touring Review

I'm probably the "average person" by your definition, and I have to say I'm underwhelmed by the premium audio. Certainly no better than my Cayenne compared side to side using same sources. But I agree it's subjective in the real world. BTW when listening critically, I find the fan noise...

    WSJ Lucid Touring Review

I agree--he's my favorite automotive writer but he's limited to a few columns of print, so his reviews are very short. Altho I wouldn't take investment advice from Dan, I was impressed by his conviction that the Saudis will keep Lucid a going concern. (Also impressed he didn't mention Tesla...

Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance with 1,700 miles Just Auctioned for $99,500

I don't think there's any way to sugar-coat this. If the auction result is representative of values generally (we already know the resale trend), I can't see any leasing company touching Lucids going forward. And lenders will require larger down payments, which will take some buyers out of the...

    Q1 Production 2314 cars

Maybe…but how long/far is it from here to there? They are bleeding cash on warranty work for a few thousand cars. And US plant expansion, and Saudi plant, and R&D on the so-far unannounced segments you suggest. And they plan to run out of cash 4Q23 or 1Q24. The only plausible scenario for...

Good point. Every 1000 cars delivered = +/- $120M in cash

    Q1 Production 2314 cars

Could be---2 weeks ago at Goose Isl there were a dozen cars that had obviously just arrived from the factory and hadn't been detailed yet...and maybe more that I didn't see.

    Q1 Production 2314 cars

I don't see how they could have a waitlist of 20k-something AND have cars on the lot that they can't move. (IE the waitlist can't be 100% Pures) Of course the waitlist thing was always ephemeral: refundable $1k...I put deposits on Lucid, Rivian and Fisker with no intention of ever owning more...

Would the Cali bear placement bother you?

Oh come on...it's better than at least 50% of them....and best of all, it's voluntary. I don't think the Bear is un-tasteful -- just a CA thing for whatever reason..no biggie

Would the Cali bear placement bother you?

Comes with the territory ---do you suggest L management is (or should be) ignorant of political influences? I think not/hope not...they have a rocky road ahead and can use all the gov't largesse they can muster
  20. D

Would the Cali bear placement bother you?

Yes--agree...looks like a cloying level of political posturing ("Hey, we're a CA company!'), when "all" of the assets and cashflow are generated in AZ. Likely some PR tack to appear to be lining up behind Newsome's All Ev goals...zzzzzz The whole Bear thing seems creepy--Didn't adhere one...
