This is one of my biggest complaints that Highway Assist only works on selected roads. None of my local highways except I95 seems to allow the feature to activate. Tesla and even my son's Hyundai works on all the roads in my area. It should work on any road that has clear lines in the road.

That is a good question because it makes a dramatic difference. In my case I travel 35 miles a day and I use around 70 stated miles to do that but if I took a longer trip my performance would be greatly better because you are not conditioning the battery over and over again.

This is all speculation but it's also possible they will not be including the hardware if you do not pay for it on a new build. It's also possible they are just stripping these options on customer cancelled orders to help move just those vehicles by making them more affordable.
