    Gravity Orders Discussion

I am not against LIDAR. I love the concept. My understanding is that LIDAR (in contrast to lighting up an object) is mostly used for quantitative ranging as opposed to imaging. Unlike Waymo, Lucid's LIDAR has limited functionality (field of view, front only, etc.). I wonder how it is used...

Rivian send you a free NASC adapter. Isn't that enough 😉.

    Gravity Orders Discussion

Realistically, is LIDAR being used on the Lucid in any meaningful way or used at all vis-a-vis, enabling functions that are otherwise not possible? Or, at a minimum, make certain drive assist/automation features much better, safer? From what I can see, the current instantiation of Lucid Air's...

    OTHER Winter Range Mega thread.

By early February, Ottawa might be in the -40F/-40C range 😉. Considering the temperature, you are doing well!

    Lease Deals are INSANELY GREAT

I think this data was what I referred to. This data is Jul'2024, I think. https://www.teslarati.com/legacy-startup-ev-sales-drop-leasing-credit/

    Lease Deals are INSANELY GREAT

I thought I saw somewhere (but I can't remember where) that ~83% of the Lucid Airs were leased. If so, there will be a bunch of them coming due in the next 12-24mos. I have no idea what the financial implications are and how this would affect the resale value of the Air. And what are the...

    Lease Deals are INSANELY GREAT

Yeah, Lucid shipped ~20kU of the Air from 2021-2024. As many noted a lot of the shipment in the last 12-18mo are incredible lease deals. The erosion on the residual value is terrible! As Gravity ramps and the mid-size is in the offing, I wonder how the economics is going to work!

    Lease Deals are INSANELY GREAT

Perhaps a sobering reminder of the consequences of all the great deals on Lucids https://www.carscoops.com/2025/01/a-lucid-air-for-50000-could-be-a-deal-too-good-to-ignore/

Millbrae, CA Service dept doesn't answer their phone AND there is no way to leave a message

I bought and registered my AGT in AZ. Most of my services were done through the Scottsdale SC. Since I live about 6miles from the Scottsdale SC, when I have questions or need service, I just drive over there and talk to the SC Advisors. The Scottsdale SC used to have a receptionist who...

    Gravity Orders Discussion

I am not throwing stones. I was also on "Free Charge" at EA with my AGT. I have Lucid free charge till Oct (or is it Nov?). I have to pay for my Rivian charging. I don't go to EA. I try to go to Rivian's RAN charger. Significantly cheaper (for Rivians), not as crowded, and great chargers!

    Gravity Orders Discussion

I think part of EA's crowding came from "free charging". On several occasions when I was at the SF Harrison St. EA "Flagship Charging Station", I walked around and looked at who is actually paying for their charging. The Flagship station has twenty 350kW DCFC. On the occasions I surveyed...

The mobile key, keyfob, and keycards stopped working at the same time

So, you 12V battery is good, the car computer seems good, but FOB, Mobile key, and valet key don't work. You got entry by using the App. Did I get that right?

Or, is your car computer dead? Maybe you can't tell because you can't get into your car. That's my nightmare scenario!

Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

I don't own a BMW and I have no experience with its SW. Reading samples of the link @Bobby sent, > The BMW 3X/yr updates seem to focus on enabling new features, some quality improvement, etc.. > I like to clear and concise descriptions > there are no specifics for "bug-fixes". How does BMW...

Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

I got my R1S in Nov 2023. Posts by earlier Rivian owners suggest the Rivian SW was more buggy in the early days. I am not a big fan of Rivian's UI. But my experience with the SW has been very good. Everything seem to work as expected. Rivian follows a regular cadence, approx. 1X/month, of...

Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

Actually, on the Lucid, I have had problems with the 4 modes of unlock/ entry....Mobile Key/App/FOB/Valet card. Lucid gave me another FOB, they had to replace the sensor in my B-pillar to make the valet key work, and I had to play with the Wi-Fi to make the Mobile Key work. For a period of...

Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

If so, should all users discontinue using the mobile key and/or the app? By what about the reliability of the FOB? It also has a history of its own problems, correct?
