    Dream Drive 2????

Agree with you. DDP on the Air is still much short of Lucid's original vision and positioning. Earlier, I posted the question about how Lidar is being used on the current Lucid Air. First, no one seems to know the answer. Second, several responses suggest that I shouldn't be pre-occupied...

    Dream Drive 2????

So, the next question one should ask: >on the Air, DDPro is a feature with extra cost, correct? >Did Lucid deliver the DDpro features as promised? >what's DD2 vs DDPro? >What is promised in DD2?

Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

You are correct that the Mobile Key connects through BT. However, multiple owners have reported difficulties with making the Mobile Key work. Other owners and moderators suggest turning off WiFi (i.e., in your house/car), suggesting that might help the Mobile Key pair. I don't think it is a...

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

I wonder if @Adnillien has any recent aerial recon photo of finished vehicles at the Casa Grande plant. A couple of days ago, I called the Corte Madera showroom, asking if they have (or will have) a Gravity on display. And for that matter, is a Gravity on display anywhere in CA. The...

Interview with Peter at InsideEV - 180 mile EVs are the future

Battery swap is a fantasy for passenger cars (especially in the US). Imagine the cost of the battery inventory. It will never be economical. It could work for taxis and transport trucks.

Interview with Peter at InsideEV - 180 mile EVs are the future

Charging a Bolt @50kW is a Zen exercise! Don't knock it until you've tried it!😉 Seriously, I see the Uber/Lyft drivers having their meals/naps while they are charging. For many, it is a second job to augment their income.

Interview with Peter at InsideEV - 180 mile EVs are the future

Yes, there are a lot of people charging at DCFC because they don't have a garage. You will be surprised how many Uber/Lyft drivers use EVs, have free charging for a period of time, and live in apartments. I made it a habit to go talk to people charging (waiting) at DCFCs I was surprised and...

Interview with Peter at InsideEV - 180 mile EVs are the future

keep in mind that if a medium size car (less than 3,000lb) can go 180miles (real miles) on a full charge with a relatively small battery (e.g.,, 7+miles/kWh efficiency, 25-30kW battery), you can easily recharge every night at home with 120V or 220V. You don't have to go to a DCFC station at...

    Gravity Orders Discussion

maybe I am missing something... > is Lucid going to provide a Lucid adaptor for free or for purchase? > I have a Rivian adapter that's rated to 1000V. Rivian sent it out to all is owners for free. I haven't used it on either my Rivian or my Lucid.

    Gravity Orders Discussion

Just to be clear, > we are NOT talking about autonomous vehicles such as Waymo. Those vehicles are clearly using 360 degree scanning LIDAR and imaging to make them aware of their surroundings. > the question herein is about EVs with a front-facing LIDAR array and its capabilities. Presumably...

    Gravity Orders Discussion

While IR on the LIDAR (as a beam) is less prone (not immune) to visible light scattering and can potentially "see" better, but forgive my ignorance: > isn't the LIDAR sensors on the Lucid a scanning beam as opposed to a camera? > does Lucid's LIDAR actually produce a 2D image on its own or...

Driving in the dark, on a country road, with your headlights off, and relying on the LIDAR to scan and pick up the obstruction with its IR?

    Gravity Orders Discussion

I am always curious about claims vs reality. I agree with you that ultimately, demonstrated functionality is what matters. In this context, the safety, features, and robustness of ADAS is the key, no matter how it is achieved. Recent updates has improved Lucid's DA features. That's good...

    Gravity Orders Discussion

It is not a trick question....Lucid should just educate us on what LIDAR does on the Lucid and how it adds to DA and safety. They can educate us on how to turn LIDAR ON or OFF and see the difference. Lucid can show us comparison with other EVs.

Daily driving. Long distance driving with a large part of the route on DA. My 2017 Lexus RH450H had (the equivalent) of DA, HUD, lane-keep etc.. I put 60,000+ miles on it. Similarly, I've driven my Lucid Air and my Rivian R1S on the same routes. Lucid had gotten better, but nothing above...

    Gravity Orders Discussion

I owned 3 cars with driver assist features. Only the Lucid has LIDAR. I experienced no discernable differences between them. If anything, Lucid's implementation of DA features lags behind the other tow cars (Lexus/Rivian). I am all for LIDAR. But I haven't seen anything on the Lucid that...

Are the 2025 builds getting better?

Seems wildly optimistic to me. First, I don't doubt some improvements had been made on the 2025 AGT. But the suggestion of an almost 30% improvement in efficiency between the 2022 and 2025 AGT seems like fantasy! The survey (this forum) done about 1.5 years ago suggest that most owners...

    Gravity Orders Discussion

LIDAR has proven itself to be very effective in hands-off driving. The most public example is evidenced on Waymo's implementation of LIDAR. That said, Waymo's LIDAR implementation is vastly different than what Lucid (and a few other EV mfg) is pursuing. LIDAR is present on a handful of EVs...

    Gravity Orders Discussion

Yes, it alerts you every time it rains 😉. Seriously though, I don't see how LIDAR is being used on the Lucid at this time. Let me be more specific, I don't see any functionality that is enabled by Lucid's LIDAR that could not be enabled by a standard camera-based driver assist system. I am...
