    Gravity Delivery Discussion

Seriously, does US News and World Report have any professional staff who do their own research and testing or do they just write articles/reviews like their college and university ranking stuff?! They come across as more like opinions and advertising as opposed to reviews by a knowledgeable...

    Gravity Release Timeline

Be great if Lucid can hit those goals. Rawlinson was (is) Lucid's "spark-plug" (irony intended) in technical innovations. I hope the incoming CEO puts more focus on planning, execution, realistic expectation setting, and communication.

"Announced CEO transition..." Rawlinson out as CEO

Did anyone get clarity from yesterday's earning call as to when Gravity will be: > available for test drives? > available for unsupervised reviews? > start shipping to current reservation customers?

These graphs show a rather rosy picture of the financials. I have no reason to doubt you. If so, [1] Lucid Corp should be net cash positive by 2026? [2] Since most of the cars (75%+) shipped in 2025 will be Airs, the sedan market is not saturated in the US and rest of the world? [3] There are...

@HC79 is correct. In mid 2023, about 3 months before I took delivery of my R1S. Rivian asked me if I want to switch from the (Bosch) quad motors to their in-house dual motor. I declined. Rivian developed their in house dual motor (now standard) to reduce cost and reduce dependency on Bosch...

    Not a winter car?

I think you have to be careful trying to open the trunk/frunk in cold weather. Theya re probably "glued" to the body of the car by a thin ice film. Forcing it to open (other than heating up the car) might damage the seals. That could be a costly replacement!

    Gravity Release Timeline

To realize the 20kU, Lucid has to sell 30-40% more Airs (than in 2024)and successfully introduce and sell 6kU plus of the Gravity in 2025. It is now end of February...no Gravity yet!

If EMEA is the growth market for Lucid, they better beef up the service network.

    Gravity Release Timeline

the 20kU 2025 production number seems a big bubble to me. Big bubble in term of inventory, devaluation of the Air, maturing leases, and a trickle of Gravity. I am not saying these things because I've done the $ analyses. As a matter of fact, I don't know how to model Lucid's 2025 financials...

    Gravity Release Timeline

If Lucid were to move 12kU of Air this year, I suspect the vast majority (90%+) will be "sweet-heart lease deals". At the same time, some of the earlier lease deals will be returned in 2025. I have no clue about how returned leases affect Lucid's financials. I suppose it will also erode the...

"Announced CEO transition..." Rawlinson out as CEO

Rawlinson has been with Lucid for 12 years. He is a great engineer. But, for Lucid to succeed, they must become profitable. And for companies like Lucid to become profitable, they must delight the customers. Product roll-out glitches, delays, missed deadlines, no-communications, blame...

"Announced CEO transition..." Rawlinson out as CEO

@FA14's comments are right on! No one is disputing Rawlinson's engineering brilliance. But, Lucid is a business. not a religion. It needs to serve its customers vis-a-vis, launching products on time, deliver what they promised, communicate schedules and issues, respond to customer's issues...

"Announced CEO transition..." Rawlinson out as CEO

Based on Lucid's track record, I can't see how they can do ADAS on their own. Lucid is better off contracting ADAS or buy a solution anew. That's not easy either!

I agree with you that the upside of the US market is limited. Even outside of the US, hard to see a sizable opportunity. Lease returns will start to roll in soon. That's another factor.
