220v charging - anyway to limit amp draw

One of few functions of the "AC charger" is to tell the car the maximum acceptable current. Lucid mobile charging cable does that, and should tell different limit depending of the adaptor used. Looks like using NEMA 14-30 plug adapter should set the limit to 24A...

    Unlocking with mobile key unreliable

There are hints that Gravity will use UWB instead of BT for Keyless. You won't be able to use UWB with Air without retrofitting.

    Unlocking with mobile key unreliable

Legacy fobs use proprietary radio. Looks like Lucid just used bluetooth for both the fob and mobile key instead of having separate radio for the fob. So both are comparably unreliable as result.

    Android Auto Thursday

Personally I very likely only buy a car that is on Android Automotive with GAS or at least has Android Auto - otherwise that will be very noticeable regression for me. But I don't know stats and therefore will not speculate with estimates. Personally I don't care about Alexa

Android phone users: what would it take to make you basically satisfied with the Air's software?

The last time I've played a computer game was about 15 years ago. When discussion switches from the topic to discussing the person it's a very clear signal that it goes wrong way. I have no idea why do you think this. Tesla is much worse. It's all not about "much more advanced" at all.

Thoughts on Sitting in a Gravity

Agree. I'd even say something like "200 miles on 80% -> 10% range" - that would be a reasonable step between two fast chargers. It doesn't. I've tried several MEB platform cars and none meet their claimed range, especially on the highway. The real world range on the highway for ID.Buzz is 200...

Thoughts on Sitting in a Gravity

I was waiting for ID.Buzz, but then our friends bought it, and the real world range is completely disappointing.

    2.4.0 / 2.4.2 / 2.4.3 / 2.4.4 OTA

I think the whole point of the traffic display in HA mode is to give the driver confidence that the car is aware of what is going on around. For this goal showing cars in blind spots sounds as much important (or even more) as showing cars in front of you.

    2.4.0 / 2.4.2 / 2.4.3 / 2.4.4 OTA

My understanding is that an Alexa Auto uses bluetooth (or AUX) only answer to your questions, it uses it's own integrated microphone to listen to you. I guess it will work if the car will support multiple devices connected over bluetooth (as your Android phone will also utilize bluetooth for the...

Thoughts on Sitting in a Gravity

There is pretty simple "family car" test for the 2nd row for me: put 2 IsoFix child seats into the second row and ask an adult to also seat there. Surprisingly many cars fails it ...

Android phone users: what would it take to make you basically satisfied with the Air's software?

So I can listen to the musing at home using my headphones, then jump to the car and it will continue playing the same song I've started listening when it was at home? It's not necessary a new place, but it is almost always a different place: we don't have any daily routines involving a car...

    2.4.0 / 2.4.2 / 2.4.3 / 2.4.4 OTA

You shouldn't need to mount your phone anywhere in front of you: Android Auto (properly implemented by the car manufacturer of course) uses the microphone(s) installed in your car. However looks like you won't be able to change assistant in Android Auto. Some say Android Auto can be still...

    2.4.0 / 2.4.2 / 2.4.3 / 2.4.4 OTA

You are comparing the new car model with old cars. New electric Mercedes, VW, Audi, Volvo, Polestar - they all have OTA updates. My 8 years old model yar ICE car allows me to update the firmware by myself, not OTA however: I can download the new firmware, write it down to a usb stick, put it...

Android phone users: what would it take to make you basically satisfied with the Air's software?

Not everyone can "just enjoy the car" not thinking about anything and just driving doesn't matter where: quite a few actually use the car for some daily tasks etc. To enjoy the car using it for daily tasks the software should actually just work how I expect it to work: I want to jump into the...

Thoughts on Sitting in a Gravity

Do I understand correctly that the middle seat on the second row is tied to the left seat and can be only moved back/forward together? Or all 3 seats can be moved (not reclined) independently?

Android phone users: what would it take to make you basically satisfied with the Air's software?

I'm very in favor of dedicated physical controls for important functions (like defrost, fog lights, wiper adjustment, gear selector of course). And not just because the touchscreen doesn't always work well for me (every winter my skin becomes so dry that all of fingerprint readers stop...

Android phone users: what would it take to make you basically satisfied with the Air's software?

The thing is that for some usage scenarios digital displays are the only usable option: navigation, and you have navigation on the digital display doesn't matter what the car manufacturer uses. For some other options it's most likely ok to have them in digital displays: equalizer for sure...

Android phone users: what would it take to make you basically satisfied with the Air's software?

That is not true, you can have Android Auto in Android Automotive entertainment systems. Polestar 2 has them all. Must be some misunderstanding. Google is very open internally, maybe like no other company. Android Auto and Android Automotive teams are heavily connected.

Android phone users: what would it take to make you basically satisfied with the Air's software?

I don't want video games in my car. I don't play videogames anywhere. I do want navigation to just start on one click on the appointment in the calendar or on one click in the link that my wife sent me over messenger. And I don't want the car manufacturer to dictate me the only navigation system...

Gravity Spec coming Oct 3 ?

Quite a few other manufacturers do that, so should be understandable and acceptable. If we'll be talking about "Pure/Touring will come within a year". Otherwise some potential buyers of cheaper versions may decide "I'd rather wait a little more and buy the midsize GT"
