    Q2 2022

It definitely did. Last quarter they essentially lost a full month of production from their China factory due to a mandated shutdown. That’s about 90,000 cars lost Q2 deliveries.

    Q2 2022

Yeah After last earnings I was still hoping they’d be able to scrape to 10k or relatively close to it. Also their 1st half production is only 1,405. Q1 was 700 of that meaning no ramp up at all from Q1 to Q2 :( 37,000 reservations is positive though. (Although at the current rate that would...

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

No, I am just saying that your proposition that a minimum 15% tax on corporate profits will cause companies to raise prices and therefore constitutes a tax to the middle class would actually be inflationary, not a tax. 30,000 jobs…Are they accounting for increased manufacturing jobs (cells...

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

What you described is inflation, not a middle class tax increase. Even that is arguable: I don’t remember consumer prices coming down when the corporate tax rate was slashed a few years back, but corporate profits sure improved. Hard to see much of an issue with making people that cheat on...

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

Reporting might not be accurate- I swear that Rivian said in their last earnings call they would start producing the lowest trim R1S & R1T late 2023 (which in theory should be under the $80k if not loaded with options), and that they will be introducing a smaller lower cost model in 2025.

Who has a car that has pretty much worked flawlessly?

Local partners in itself might not be a bad idea but whatever they are doing doesn’t seem to be working too well. I don’t understand why EA don’t immediately know when a charger has an issue, do remote diagnosis, and if needed get a tech on-site ASAP. Stories about chargers that are not working...

Who has a car that has pretty much worked flawlessly?

Doesn’t the infrastructure law require something like 97% uptime? Wonder what happens if a recipient builds out stations and then can’t maintain reliability… government gets the money back? If that’s the case might be in EA’s best interest not to take it.

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

Rivian has noted that they don’t expect to be producing any R1S or R1T trims under $80k until 2025. https://apple.news/A4MVjleMVRSuNiWh6bnEs7g

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

Didn’t occur to me before but GMs announcement of securing a $2.5M taxpayer loan to build a new battery factory located in the US came out just a couple days before the bill was released.

Chevy Bolt $6k Refund…with strings attached

Chevy announced a couple months back they would be reducing prices for future Bolts and as a goodwill gesture would also refund recent purchasers about $6k. Sounds great and very generous but apparently accepting the $6k refund requires owners to sign away their right to ever sue for battery...

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

According to the Reddit-sourced chart Toyota currently has zero hybrids and EVs that would qualify under this bill, so if they are one of the biggest lobbyists that didn’t do a very good job.

    Tesla Model X Plaid

I assume that was a very early Model X. The current seems to be 348 EPA. It’s a really big (and ungainly looking IMO) vehicle with large frontal area so not too surprising.

    Pure and touring

I think you will have to ask Lucid but I have seen at least one other post on here stating that Lucid does not allow transfer. May not be worth purchasing to sell. Presumably you’d be out CA sales tax so accounting for that your asking price would need to be pretty close to the current listed...

    Tesla Model X Plaid

How would you need to charge 4 times in 310 miles? That would be a 5-leg trip of average 62 miles per leg. Even 3 stops would be 78 miles per leg. Were you going 160mph? 😜

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

Right- take a perfectly good hatchback or wagon, beefen up & jack up suspension a couple inches, add bigger wheels and tires and suddenly the price cap increases by 45%. Not sure what the logic is there. Maybe Ford made a smart move to get away from cars and go all in on trucks/SUVs a few...

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

The big unknowns for all of these are the battery materials sourcing and (maybe to a lesser degree) battery assembly. I have a feeling a lot of the “maybe/possibly” might not currently meet requirements so the eligible list could be a lot shorter.

    Delivery estimation for 2022-2024

The way I read the reporting was that all would come from US until SA factory is complete (obviously), then all would come from SA. Start with 1k-2k per year then increase. (That would also mean more than 5k per month would be needed in later years to make up the 50k minimum). May not be that...

    Delivery estimation for 2022-2024

That’s right, but until the SA plant opens (expected in 2025) SA govt orders will come from US. It’s not many (1000-2000 per year), but still takes away from customer deliveries.

    Delivery estimation for 2022-2024

Remember at some point they need to start delivering cars for the Saudi Government order (they own 60% of the company). Those are cars that will come off the production line but won’t go to reservation holders.

Vehicle just needs to be built in North America. GM will also be building the Blazer and Equinox in Mexico.
