What about buying a lightly used (ideally coming off a shorter-term lease, there should be lots of EVs) BMW iX or Cadillac Lyric or Rivian R1S for 12 months?
Hi @KimS,
I have been looking for ways to get involved with volunteering and spreading the good will around EVs in the Chicago area. I am open to volunteer, attend, show a car.
Is this the end of Chrylser? The only car/minivan they make is the Pacifica and it's made in Canada. I think Lucid should make a 60K Gravity pure, get out the Atlas motor, make it RWD with the GT battery and strip out everything except the purluxe and outlets.
I still want to see them put Randy Pobst or Ben Collins in the car for a Laguna Seca lap, and someone to do a Nurburgring lap to really cement Sapphire as the King! It's running out of things needing to prove to be the best:)
I was going to stay disciplined but let a day close and see what happens. I was waiting for more peak hate for Anti-EV and LCID in generally based on some 'disappointment' around Gravity launch numbers, but this CEO change is as good as any buying controversy.

He is pretty locked up with Lucid for 24 months based on this. 120K a month contracting salary, 2MM shares. They want him around. I am wondering if there is a bigger company restructuring in play, like a merger or...
Yes but in Germany and Europe the prices are quite high relative to competition (think BMW and MB local prices with no import costs as opposed to the Pure costing 93K over there).
They should have a pretty good handle on actual sales prices now and then can compensate needing to drop price by $7500 so that there is no effect of any tax credits changes. But 20K units is going to include a much larger share going to Middle East I suspect.
Many of us are eagerly waiting for a mid-specced Gravity Touring. My wife mentioned she started getting concerned with the size of large SUVs, so the Dynamic Handling Package and RWS will be a very useful capability.
