Ok, what's the deal with aftermarket wheels and "hub centricity"?

Thank you for your comments and for explaining the nuances of all this... (wasn't trying to start a war, just find some nice summer wheels without spending a Ducati on them... 😅 )

Ok, what's the deal with aftermarket wheels and "hub centricity"?

Although this is my first Lucid, I've had EVs and other cars before, live in a place with horrible potholes and roads, and never had a wheel "destroyed" by potholes or cracks (tire damage a couple times, yes). If the load rating exceeds what the car weighs, such as these purpose-built titanium...

    Not a winter car?

I have a RWD pure in an extremely snowy and icy wooded area. As long as you have good winter tires (Nokians) and a bit of driving skill, you're golden. I had an AGT loaner here and the AWD is amazing in snow but tires > AWD. As for the door handles, I've never had them frozen shut. The weird...

    We’re safe. Thank you Lucid

Wow, glad everyone is alright. Metal and glass can be replaced, people can't. These are heavy cars and like other folks have said, norms have somewhere changed in the past 30 years.

    Noone is home

At this point if you're not getting a response, might be worth just showing up. There might be a good reason why you couldn't reach anyone, but at the very least they'll listen to you.

Ok, what's the deal with aftermarket wheels and "hub centricity"?

This just seems so insane to me, I don't see anything specific about how Lucid or its wheels are designed that justifies a 400% premium over any other wheels. For the record, I'm looking to go with these, which are listed by the vendor as being compatible with the Lucid Air Pure (and I'm...

Ok, what's the deal with aftermarket wheels and "hub centricity"?

I'm a bit confused with the responses I've been getting regarding aftermarket wheels on the Lucid. I wanted to go from 19s to 20s on my Air, and was quoted $8,000 for a Stealth 20" wheel and tire set from Lucid (yes, that's EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS), so was looking at aftermarket wheels with the...

Wanted Lucid OEM 20" or 21" wheels, with or without tires, near Montreal or cheap shipping

Also can consider shipping in PA as I head down to State College once in a while.

    Customer Service - WTF!

Yup, if I hadn't had the loaner my experience would have been much different; the Lucid is my only car and I'm out in the woods so being carless is not an option for me. The only downside is now I want an AGT and I just got my pure...

    Customer Service - WTF!

Lucid sent a tow to my house 65 miles from the studio, loaned me a fully-loaded AGT while my car was in the shop, and fully detailed it before giving it back to me. My service experience personally has been 5 star.

So it finally happened - my first stranded / tow truck service call.

Got my car back on Friday (though I wish I could've kept the fully-loaded AGT loaner for a bit longer)... and got a chance to see a Sapphire in the flesh. The service experience was excellent. My car was fully detailed (not just washed / cleaned, but like new, from showroom floor...), and they...

So it finally happened - my first stranded / tow truck service call.

Update: I got a loaner (fully loaded GT, now I want one ... ) and was taken care of. They did a software update, recall, and fixed a couple small cosmetic things I hadn't even noticed (rear right door handle was peeling off apparently). I'm bringing the loaner back and getting my car back later...

Wanted Lucid OEM 20" or 21" wheels, with or without tires, near Montreal or cheap shipping

Hello, I'd like a set of 20 or 21 inch wheels for my Lucid Pure for the summer. I have my OEM 19s mounted with winter tires. I don't mind a bit of scuff or rash as long as they are safe and sound. With or without tires is fine.

So it finally happened - my first stranded / tow truck service call.

Update: The car is still at the service center. They suspect a software issue, so did some some of software stuff (I was not privy to the details) and everything seems to be ok now. However, they prefer to wait until they have confirmation from Lucid engineering to release the car back to me...

I washed it about a week ago. The joys of living in snow.

So it finally happened - my first stranded / tow truck service call.

Around 7pm tonight, I was backing my '24 Pure out of my (plowed but snowy) driveway, and then the car showed me the Drive System Fault error and refused to get out of park. Tried the screen reset and nothing changed. I called Lucid support (who answered very quickly and took all my info and...

    Winter Weather/Snow/Ice Best Practices?

Forgot to add one more winter annoyance: Very loud buzzing sound from the front of the car when heating is turned on. Strangely, it stops when you turn on the defroster...

    Winter Weather/Snow/Ice Best Practices?

I live in one of the snowiest / winteriest parts of the world at the moment, and have a RWD pure. With good winter tires, I've never gotten stuck, either on ice, deep snow or freezing rain, nor have I had any losses of control. The car is heavy, the weight distribution is excellent, and the...

    OTHER Winter Range Mega thread.

I'd say it's already here. On a related note, I forgot how interesting driving a RWD car over black ice and snow could be, even with good winter tires. Saw lots of cars (mostly SUVs) in the ditch this weekend. Thankfully the traction control on the Lucid is excellent and the extra weight is...
