New (again) Lucid Pure owner in San Antonio

Congrats from another SA guy! Yeah I thought the same - that totaled it? But I guess if it was mine I’d rather have it totaled and just start over.

    2nd Gen Rivian R1

I hope my wife likes the Gravity when it is available. We both do like the R1S but for her no CarPlay is an absolute deal killer. Won’t even consider looking at it.

    Review of sapphire by MKB

I’ve never seen a 14 year old have more time, more expertise, and more knowledge of something that he doesn't own, drive, pay for, or work on. However - his posts are always well written, grammar is correct, and generally the tone is positive. It’s always nice to see when the next generations...

Lucid missing market segment begging to be exploited via Dream Drive

If they took money for it then it should be refunded. That’s the problem with Tesla too - they get the money, buyer gets squat for years.

    Review of sapphire by MKB

Well, my 911 turbo is a 2004 that I bought in 2011 for less than $50k. Don’t think I’ve ever bought myself a brand new car - my Cayenne was a certified 2 year old when I got it for $60k, and my Tesla S Plaid is a 22 that I bought this year. Even if I could afford it, no way I could bring...

    Review of sapphire by MKB

If I had the money the Sapphire would be at the top of my list - really does have every single thing I would want out of a car (except the price tag). I love that color too.

Lucid missing market segment begging to be exploited via Dream Drive

If you compare Air GT to Tesla S, which is the closest competitor, the instrument panel with the lane and car displays is right in front of you - you don’t need to turn to look at the big screen to the right. The Model 3 doesn’t but that’s not a good comparison. Also - Tesla has been promising...

    Hands-free Trunk/Frunk opening

This - just got it on my Tesla with the latest update - stand behind the trunk with your mobile key and it will open after 3 beeps. You can turn it off in the car if you want - not crucial but it’s a nice feature. No sensors back there that I know of and was added in the last OTA.

98% do not buy Tesla's FSD after trying it for a month

Would help to add that the main reason almost no one buys it for $8k is that you can subscribe for $99 a month now and cancel/restart any time you want. Unless you are keeping your car for at least 80 months, even the basic math tells you to rent it. The correct statistic would be to report...

Lucid posts quarterly revenue beat as luxury EV sedan price cuts boost sales

Not sure how you interpreted anything I said that way, but okay. Doesn’t really matter what any of us think anyway. The market is pretty efficient.

Lucid posts quarterly revenue beat as luxury EV sedan price cuts boost sales

Those of you who don’t like the metric act as if the buildings etc don’t cost real money that has to be accounted for. When your only revenue stream is from the sale of cars (aside from a little money from Aston), yet your expenses are from many different areas, the only way to get profitable...

Lucid posts quarterly revenue beat as luxury EV sedan price cuts boost sales

They’re losing $300k + per car sold - not sure how anyone thinks volume will solve this problem. It’s like the old SNL skit about the change makers - swapping dollars for dimes, etc, and thinking they are making money through volume. Lucid stock isn’t going anywhere if they are not able to...

About to be a lucid leaser, a few questions please

It’s been there since at least the end of the year - when I was considering a GT that was one of the factors for me.

    Vehicle to Home

Joe used to run a garage called Joe’s Last Chance Garage where he worked primarily on Porsches. He has a very cool setup at his house and worked on several of my cars - one of the most honest and thorough guys I’ve ever met. He became a big Tesla fan and documented the construction of the...

    Edmunds does another Lucid review..

They don’t even have the starting price right - off by $20k in the headline. That seems pretty basic….

    New owner needs guidance

I remember way back in the day when 17” wheels were considered huge and the Lexus salesman talking me off of getting them because of the low profile and rougher ride - in a Lexus. 😜 Now 20” is considered small on a lot of cars. I do have 21s on my Cayenne and have never had any issues in over...

    Auto Insurance using regen breaking

I use Progressive but no way I would give them access to that info. It’s already pretty reasonably priced anyway, and that data only benefits the insurance company.
