How is the Press Responding to the opening of Gravity Orders?

How about this for a thought exercise: 1. Get a lot of reservations, mostly from existing Air owners 2. Go dark 3. Make no cars available for test drives before deliveries - eliminates the possibility of cancellations of orders if test drives are underwhelming 4. Make deliveries sight unseen...

    Lucid's Future

Yeah I think the first try from Porsche and Audi (and BMW)was suboptimal just based on the range - way too low for what you are paying. Lucid’s huge advantage for sure but the rest will catch up.

    Lucid's Future

I’d like to make it clear that I am cheering for Lucid and think the cars are awesome. I do happen to own a Tesla S Plaid and have been a Porsche guy for decades. I hope Lucid can survive and thrive and force all other EV companies to improve or lose.

    Lucid's Future

Nope - but you are forgetting that Tesla was the only game in town and advancing EVs way past Leafs and Bolts, so they could command a premium price. Lucid launched into a crowded market with no name brand recognition, virtually no advertising, almost no showrooms, and priced above almost...

    Lucid's Future

There’s no mystery at all - they started way too expensive for an untested company and eliminated themselves from consideration for 99% of buyers. What will be interesting is how many Gravity sales are to people who do not already have an Air, because they are repeating the same strategy with...

    Lucid's Future

To call Porsche and MB “niche marketers” is pretty funny - they are the farthest thing from it. Lotus is niche. Koenigsegg is niche. Porsche and MB have full product lineups, massive sales, and legions of customers - the opposite of niche.

New 2025 Air GT - just delivered - Homelink fails to communicate with garage receiver - Help?

This may not be the issue, and I definitely didn’t think it applied to me when I tried to program my Tesla, but nevertheless it was exactly what my problem was - put a brand spanking new battery in the remote and try again. I was having exactly the same problem you are describing and my remotes...

Very poor experience with purchase of a car cover from the Lucid Store

The higher end EV companies should really just price the vehicle to include a home charger and installation like Ford was doing to drum up sales. That would take a big unknown(and a potential PITA) off the customer’s plate. Throw in the charger and up to $1000 towards the installation - would...

Cost to Replace Cracked Rear Window?

If you have glass coverage, it should cover any glass (except maybe a sunroof) - def worth checking.

    Charging port security pin deployed

How did he propose that you drive to a public charging station if you can’t get your home charger out of the port? 🙄

    Shipping your Lucid

Reliable and Intercity have great reputations among high end car clubs.

Trying to decide: Fathom Blue with Platinum or Stealth

The more I look at that Fathom Blue with Stealth the more I want it.

Trying to decide: Fathom Blue with Platinum or Stealth

I think Fathom with stealth is one of the best looking combos I’ve ever seen. It suits the Air perfectly.

Lucid Air as a home battery backup

Unfortunately the Elon stink rubbed off on the timeline for some of Lucid’s promises and predictions.

    Gravity [Dream Edition] Reservations Tracker

Boy if people were unhappy with the 21s on the Air popping or getting sidewall bulges, just wait until 23s and a much heavier SUV, much less the eventual replacement cost. I remember when 17s started coming out and people couldn’t believe wheels were that big. 😜 As far as performance SUVs and...

Windshield Crack - Not Covered by Warranty

I’ve had bad luck in general with windshields, mostly because I do tend to follow too close on highways. I dropped my deductible just for glass to $0 - it costs me a few extra bucks a month, but it has more than paid for itself multiple times over. Maybe an option for you?

    Test drive before 2H25.....maybe?

I guess you can design and engineer new cool stuff all day long and pray that the money never runs out when you don’t sell anything. Maybe having the PIF backing is a blessing and a curse - imagine if Lucid absolutely had to sell cars at volume now or they go belly up with no money backstop - I...

    Test drive before 2H25.....maybe?

That’s the problem with disruptors - sometimes they disrupt parts of the process so thoroughly that they FUBAR it for all intents and purposes. These companies that act like selling is a bad thing have lost the plot - you still need to be able to sell your vision and sell the vehicles. Leave...
