    30 or 35 Amps on a 50 amp plug

Yes, this should be fine. Additionally, if you get your wiring installed in conduit (which may be required in some places anyway), pulling a new lower-gauge (thicker) cable through is much easier the next time around. Always a good idea when running cables IMO if you can do it.

Take part in our DreamDrive study

What? The nag is every 15 seconds without torque. Even if you only have one hand, I think you can press a button within 15 seconds. Am I misunderstanding?

    Android App Update

I would just keep checking your app store and wait. It should be a matter of a couple days at most before you get the update.

New "Weirdness" with 2.6.2 - Random audio announcements in German

Just wondering if voice activation (as opposed to button activation, with the microphone button on the steering wheel) is enabled because my only guess is that the car thinks it's hearing you say "Hey Lucid, [... something utterly nonsensical that somehow translates to 'speak to me in German...

"Announced CEO transition..." Rawlinson out as CEO

That TAM won't be anywhere near saturated this year because only the GT will be available for most of the year. Part of why trims are released high to low is because the demand for each lower trim is higher, which gives time to figure out production and quality problems while demand is lower...

New "Weirdness" with 2.6.2 - Random audio announcements in German

That's a new one. Do you have "Hey Lucid" voice activation enabled by any chance in the car's settings?

    Dream Edition aiyoooo!

This is all nonsense. No it's probably not a coincidence, both were timed around the earnings call, because that's how public companies operate. This did not come out of nowhere. It is not significantly more expensive. It is something buyers want. No it doesn't say anything about delays in...

    Hi from San Diego

I take it you're using a charging schedule on your EVSE? Don't use that if you can avoid it. Set up a charging schedule in the car, from the charging screen on the pilot panel. This should wake up the car and start charging at the time you tell it. This makes me think you have a problem. Since...

    Soft close doors add on

To clarify, the door doesn't actually propel itself open electronically. When I put a finger's weight on the underside of the door handle, the door unlatches and pops out just a little bit immediately. Also there is nothing wrong with closing the doors normally, soft close is just "neat" not...

    How is the software?

In nearly 2 years I haven't had a single issue worth pulling over for. I've had music or CarPlay break while driving a couple times (a while ago, not recently), but I just lived without until I got where I was going. I've had to reboot the system fewer than 10 times in general, mostly when it...

    Soft close doors add on

Both of these things sound wrong to me. There's no effort involved in using soft close, I just close the door gently and the mechanism pulls it in the rest of the way. Similarly there is no effort involved in opening the door, I apply the tiniest bit of pressure to the handle and it pops open.

    Lucid Gravity in the wild

I like the classy blue painter's tape seal on the window. 💯

Car imagery in the car and app

All I know is Lucid can change that (somehow) but there's no way for us to do it on our own. Your car probably left the factory with 21" wheels and they were replaced at some point without updating something in their system.

Did Lucid Assistant improve with the last update?

I have a pretty good guess at what this is... Lucid Assistant is an Android app running on the car's Android infotainment system. It's not telling you to look at your phone, it thinks it is a phone. Some factoids just need to get updated so it knows it's a car.

Beware: reduced charging speeds if frequently fast charging

All Airs do not use the same cells, though aside from the special ones in the Dream Editions I don’t think it makes much of a difference to charging. More cells does equal higher charge rate. You’re adding more batteries that can charge at the same wattage, so the pack overall can take and...

    Gravity Wraps

IMO Lucid’s lines lend more to a gloss or satin finish than matte. Play with the light and shadow, don’t hide it. That’s just me though. I too want to see Lucids in more vivid colors. Gravity in a satin British racing green sounds gorgeous to me.

    2.6.2 Software Update

Were you in Sprint mode? I'm not sure if the speed is more limited in other modes, but you'll certainly have a harder time getting there without the full horsepower.

    Greater Seattle Potential Lease

As far as highway driving, Premium gives you adaptive cruise control. Lucid's ACC implementation is excellent. Very smooth. Pro gives you Drive Assist, which is more like Autopilot. Geofenced highway-only auto-steer and automatic lane changes (initiated from the blinker stalk, not by the car...

    Prospective New Owner

That would be neat if so, but I wouldn't put much confidence in what one Lucid sales rep says. In 2026 and into 2027 Lucid is going to be very busy with the Midsize cars, so I haven't been expecting any big changes to Air until maybe 2028.

    2.6.2 Software Update

Top speed for a GT is 270 km/h or about 168 mph. Touring is 225 km/h, about 140mph. That's real speed, not speedometer speed. You'll see the speedo hit 170 or 142, since it's reporting 2mph over the real speed. It won't stop you from going faster (with the help of a hill or a tailwind or...
