7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

Sorry, didn't think I was venting! Just sharing an opinion. Trying to offer a solution. Tons of posts here about the nuance of the interpretation IRS guidelines and what constitutes a confirmed contract or not. Thought I had a different, interesting angle on the problem to share. I kind of feel...

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

I mean I'm not sure how it wouldn't be. Here's how I see it going: Send out an email to all reservation holders of Touring/Pure placed before Jan 1 '22 (those who could have had a reasonable expectation of receiving their vehicle in '22) Offer the upgrade to GT again for original price ($139k)...

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

LOL!!! Spoken like an MBA You are right, Lucid can do whatever they want. And they will probably not cry if I cancel my reservation. But I just wanted to express my opinion that while they have been dealt a bad hand by the change in the regulatory environment they absolutely have the power to...

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

I understand market economics. But you could make the argument that their inability to produce to their projections is what is limiting supply. I have been super supportive of Lucid and am really excited by the product, but back to market economics, the competitor landscape today is very...

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

No, not today. I am saying Lucid should reopen the offer to give us the option of upgrading at the old price, given that they haven't' been able to meet their production commitments. I guess it all depends on how many GT orders Lucid has to deliver this year and whether we would even make it...

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

I personally don't fault Lucid for the issues with the IRS guidance and the level of deposit that is required for meeting the context of a binding contract. They took a shot at helping us out and it didn't work. The thing that is starting to grate on me a little bit as a very early Touring...

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

I've been reflecting a bit now that this has passed the Senate and seems destined to become law. As much as it pains me, I think the income tests for the EV tax credit makes sense. I took advantage of the $7,500 last year buying a Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid and it just made my car insanely cheap...

    Touring Delivery Tracker [Archive]

I just checked up on my configuration. Dream Drive is now a selectable option (vs. dream drive pro) but the surreal sound and aluminum roof options are still greyed out and now say "later availability" instead of Q4 2022.

    Leasing/Financing

Thanks for sharing Bauer. Very informative. I will however say I for one am not a fan of the lack of basic info in the tool. Very much in the Tesla model of "here's the price". I have done a few leases in the past so played with the numbers a little, to try and figure out the construct. First...

    Leasing/Financing

Thanks for sharing. I assume this is based on an AGT? What finance rate did you assume to get to your 55-57% RV range? Once taxes get rolled in I'm not sure how competitive this is going to be with some of the long-term straight financing rates people are securing. But again thanks for sharing...

Follow up/update on the "downgrading then upgrading to keep original pricing" from SA

I am going through the exact same mental gymnastics at the moment. Currently holding an early Touring reservation but seriously considering upgrading to GT. The other issue is timeline. Even with the old Touring pricing, if you don't want any of the extras (DD Pro, Surreal Sound Pro, etc) then...

Best Inside The Lucid Factory Video I Have Seen So Far

Thanks for sharing. I like the adhesive machines. Something very therapeutic about watching them work.

Lucid Motors launches Lucid Financial Services

The thought that's is running around my head (because this is just how I love to overthink things) is does this create a justifiable path for me to upgrade to GT from T? If so, do I need to do something before the end of June as I understand after that we won't be able to get the pre-raise...

Lucid Motors launches Lucid Financial Services

Interesting. Please share what you find. Texas is not super renewable friendly (at least at the consumer level) but every little helps. I have tried to look at solar a couple of times because, you know, Texas. Sun shines literally all the time. But still can't get to a compelling case because...

Lucid Motors launches Lucid Financial Services

I'm really intrigued by this lease option. Will be interesting to see if they go aggressive on residuals to reduce payments and get more people the opportunity to own a vehicle. I think if you look at Tesla depreciation rates, you could make an argument that residuals of electric vehicles are...

Lucid Motors launches Lucid Financial Services

The 7500 is federal. I received it on my Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid a couple of years ago (I live in Texas). But Texas has no incremental state level incentives like Colorado does. I can't see any reason why a car being shipped to Texas would not get the federal rebate.

    Delay in delivery

I am sorry you are having a bad experience. I am in no way trying to sound like a Lucid fanboy, but, As a public company they regularly publish important business details, including how much cash they have on hand, their projected burn rate and their expected recapitalization plans if needed in...

    Metal vs Glass roof

Thanks for all the quick and informed responses everyone. Definitely have me learning back towards the glass canopy option. Lots of very experienced folks on here that have owned a lot of different vehicles and the overall message seems to be the experience of the glass canopy is really worth...

    Metal vs Glass roof

Morning All I wanted to start a general discussion on the potential benefits/compromises of spec'ing a Touring with a metal roof vs the glass canopy. I realize very little is currently known about the metal roof option, so a lot of this will be opinions and conjecture, but I would like to open...
