Yes, I had the hardware fix in September.

It is entirely possible that the sound is just not ideal for my ears, or that it is a specific problem in some, but not all cars.

That is a great idea. I have sent them some of my complaints. I think they can mess with it so that the increased bass will satisfy people and the mids and highs can be re-engineered ( if that is the correct term ).

Already done, did not improve the sound. I do not think Atmos tracks were appropriately tested. Either that or there are car specific issues that have yet to be discovered, which I find unlikely.

This is exactly how I would characterize this change. I had my wife listen with me , and she was also stunned with how harsh the vocals are from the center channel.
