Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

I have 2 colleagues with Rivians and they report similar reliability with their software experience, including mobile keys.

Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

Not at all what I was suggesting; just relaying my experience. Yes, the FOB had issues; I just haven’t suffered from them regularly. When it doesn’t work as expected ( when leaving the vehicle ) , I have a backup method.😊😊

Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

I only use my fob and I think that is why I have not had any issue waking the car upon approach. I understand or at least surmise that the mobile key may be causing more issues. As I have previously mentioned , I occasionally have issues when leaving the vehicle; it doesn’t turn off. I now...

    Not a winter car?

The car handles much more than 3 inches of snow with ease. I have driven on unplowed roads with 6-8 inches of snow on multiple occasions and it blasts right through. To be honest, I was quite surprised . 2 winters ago, I drove to work and by the end of the day there was a ton of snow . The...

Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

I only use my fob, perhaps that is why I have never had an unlocking issue. Fob good, phone bad.

Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

I shouldn’t have assumed that my experience always mirrors others . I am fortunate that I have never had an opening issue. I do have ( 5-10 percent of the time ) a closing issue where my car does not detect that I am walking away and that I want the little vixen to go to sleep. I now always...

    Hey that’s less than a minute.😉😉😉😉😉

Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

In 27 months of ownership I have never had a delay of handle presentation that lasted more than a few seconds and I have never heard of anyone standing there waiting for minutes. If that is the case with your car, there is a serious issue at hand with your vehicle that needs to be investigated ...

    Not a winter car?

One of the reasons I occasionally take the Subaru ( instead of the Lucid ) is the fear of getting into an accident in extremely icy conditions. It’s not that the Lucid can’t handle it; it’s the consequences of potentially having an accident and being 800 miles from a service center. That would...

    Not a winter car?

I have to agree with you!! I am constantly impressed with the Air’s cold weather , ice and snow performance . I was worried when my first winter came, but was then quickly surprised about the car’s abilities. I now have confidence to drive it in the worst of winter conditions.

    Not a winter car?

I have actually driven my Lucid in horrible conditions, including pretty deep snow . Surprising, the thing just plows right through it, irrespective of the clearance. In 3 winters, I have driven almost every single day and I live on top of a pretty big hill , in Idaho. The traction control is...

    Not a winter car?

No, I also have a Subaru. The Lucid is driven most of the time, including most winter days. I only use the Subaru if there is very deep snow or if I need to get to a trailhead.

    Strange audio issue

For the 3rd time in a couple weeks I have this odd occurrence where I can only play Tidal tracks in Atmos. When I try to play songs that are not Atmos encoded I get an error . When I advance to an Atmos track, it plays. Has anyone ever experienced this?

    Not a winter car?

Just give a push and the door handle should release. Happens occasionally and no need to be concerned. I have never been locked out. My third winter with the car and it’s fantastic in cold and snow.

    Cold weather battery tips

Oooh good, I was wondering about that. I thought perhaps you meant 80 miles each way. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️😬😬😊😊

    Cold weather battery tips

I cannot think of any circumstance where that will not be possible. I drove 60 miles this morning , and it was minus 20 F when I left and minus 8 when I returned. I averaged around 2.6-2.7 m/kWh on my GT, which is pretty fantastic for those temperatures.

Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

It is difficult to predict what kind of problems a new owner may encounter, because it is just so variable. I’ve had my car for 27 months and have had very minimal issues. Some people have had a bit worse luck, but others , like me, are relatively unscathed. Some of the more commonly...

Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

I am in my third winter with my 2022 GT. While I have had a few frustrating lags with my door handles presenting when it’s 20 below zero, it has been a matter of seconds. Never more than a couple seconds. I have had my handles get stuck by ice a few times; a gentle push freed the ice and I...
