Hardwire your home charging station! Or use a Hubbel / Bryant / Cooper 14-50 receptacle, not Leviton

Regardless of whether it's a 50A or 30A, the receptacle should be EV-rated. Key is the material used in the construction of the receptacle: it should be reinforced thermoplastic polyester. It used to be called Bakelite. If you can cut into it easily with a pocket knife, it isn't it. Hubbell...

    UX 2.5 OTA Update

Just updated my software but CS says I'm scheduled for the hardware update - in January! Yes, things are backed up here in Las Vegas.

    Well that spectacularly backfired

The tall pole in the tent is EV charging. I bought my Touring because of the claimed mileage, although I didn't realize that you have to shave that estimate by at least 20%. Some of the things that I realize now that I'm an EV owner: My Touring will be a museum piece, if I can find a museum...

    UX 2.5 OTA Update

Needed this alert 2 months ago :-(

Car will not update. Lucid says needs new telematics module not covered by warranty. Is this normal?

There's an adage that says, "The customer is always right." There are several Lucid employees that are members of this forum. Surely one of you must have connections to someone with influence. For $1,400, Lucid is missing a tremendous amount of (basically) good will publicity. There's also a...

Car will not update. Lucid says needs new telematics module not covered by warranty. Is this normal?

Ditto. I did the BIG update (2hrs 10 mins) from Tucson while my Touring was in my garage in Las Vegas. Zero problems. Thanks for all the info on this forum, and I'm making sure I keep up to date on all the updates.

    Gravity Features

This is probably the one thing I wished the Air has. My Lexus RX450h has it, and I love it. You wouldn't think tilting your eyes down about 5-10 degrees is a big deal, but it is. I can't (yet) judge the speed of my Touring by the "whine" like I can with the exhaust note from an ICE car so HUD...

Lucid gravity order begins Nov 7

A synonym for pure gravity is dead weight, but I guess that would be a poor choice for a model name :-( Seriously looking forward to seeing it, but I would have to do that in stealth mode. I think my wife would kill me if I gave it a serious look, at least right now. In the meantime, I'm...

Does Anyone Have Regrets? (non-owner asking)

I got my Touring in December, 2022 right before Christmas! The Lexus 450h is 2018. As you know, 5pm is the worst and hottest time of the day here. It's cooling down but wait until late next Spring when Costco carries the screens. Make sure to get the Jumbo, not the Standard size. I'll make...

Does Anyone Have Regrets? (non-owner asking)

That has not been my experience living here in Las Vegas. I've mentioned before that I bought those cheapie screens from Costco. The side window screens are too tall for the windows but fit perfectly above the driver and passenger. I park the Touring for a couple of hours at the gym between...

Does Anyone Have Regrets? (non-owner asking)

I can't get my 9/16" open-end wrench on a keyboard. And where do the metric sockets go? BTW, Pragmatic posted a guide on changing cabin air filter, so I guess I'm on my way!

Does Anyone Have Regrets? (non-owner asking)

Question: Any of you use the "roll" feature on the Lucid? If so, how do you like it?

    2.4.10 Update

Can't wait to see what else DDPro will do in future updates. Any teasers?

Does Anyone Have Regrets? (non-owner asking)

Definitely because it's an EV. Other than airing up the tires and filling the windshield washer fluid tank (like it rains here in Las Vegas lol!) and keeping the car clean, there isn't much than I can do. With regen, brakes are probably lifetime, at least for me. With my ICE vehicles - spark...

    Android Auto Thursday

Late to the party but is there a place where I can get a good primer on what Android Auto can do for me? I use the Lucid's navigation system, and it seems to work well.

    2.4.10 Update

Took the Touring to L.A. after the update. Had to navigate from Monrovia to Westwood - 36 miles. It took 1hr 25min (yep, that's the L.A. I remember lol!). Put the car in HA, and the car unbelievably "drove" me there with both feet on the floorboard. I notice the steering wheel keeping me...

Does Anyone Have Regrets? (non-owner asking)

Nearing 10K miles with Zero regrets. One observation: The car sits extremely low. If you have a "curbed" driveway, you might want to invest in a set of rubber ramps like those made by Bridjit or Vevor. Only "complaint" is that I can't work on this car lol!

    Pure vs grand touring

Check Costco early next summer. They sell a windshield + side window set of shades for $12 but on sale for $10. Be sure to get the Jumbo; they fit the windshield almost like they were made for the Lucid. The side window shades are too tall for the windows but an almost perfect fit for the...
