AC turning off and on constantly

I'm gonna step in here with the software engineering view. Reports of the HVAC shutting off periodically for 10 seconds sound to me like a watchdog timer is being missed. Maybe they have some mechanism designed as a failsafe to ensure the HVAC turns off if the car seems to be turned off. Maybe...

Will the 756-volt Airs charge slower?

The voltage is based on the source side. When you are driving, the source is the battery and it will produce a max of 756 volts. When connected to a fast charger, you will get whatever the fast charger provides. It will be ~900v whether you have a GT or pure.

Took delivery last Friday! Thoughts on week one and unfortunate problem last night.

@Zoef was there any damage caused by the police car pushing the vehicle off the road? If so, Lucid should cover the repair costs for it.

PPF and ceramic installers in MA/NH/RI

Hmm.. I thought I would have the ability to edit my OP after I collected information, but apparently I do not. I'll post what I've found here for now, maybe we can figure out how to edit the OP later. This info is all just basic collection over a couple hours. I searched for installers on...

Something for the Dream Drive Pro and Tesla proponents to consider...

I have found with Tesla's AP1 that the rate at which the car slows down depends largely on the distance following setting. At 2, it waits a frighteningly long time. At 5 it slows down slightly earlier than I'm comfortable with, often resulting in someone changing into the lane in front of me...

PPF and ceramic installers in MA/NH/RI

My AGT is going to arrive in a few weeks, and I plan to get PPF, ceramic, and windows tinting. I’ve never done any of these things with a car before, so I have no preexisting experience or relationship with a installers. I need recommendations, and I figured others would like them too. I'm...

Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

I didn’t want to have to wait the 2-3 weeks. It sounded like the car would not be legally registered for that period, thus now really drivable. Part of me suspects they are quoting such a long time because they don’t want to do this. Or maybe they don’t have the manpower to do it and are just...

Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

I just received my vin for a QG/Tahoe/21 ordered on 5/8. I was told it was mid-production, ETA 2-4 weeks before final delivery. My DA was nice enough to call before sending the email. It looks like registration in Massachusetts is particularly annoying for them. I basically have to do it...

    Software Bugs

When the eMMC chip in my main computer started to fail, I had a third party repair place change it out. They re-route the diagnostic data to them in the process so I don't have to go to Tesla service centers any more. I have PTSD from all the bad things the Dedham and Watertown SCs did to me...

    Disappointing Surreal Sound Pro

I've seen a ton of recommended tracks to listen to throughout this thread an a couple others. Could someone (maybe @bunnylebowski, who mentioned most of them) collect them in one sticky thread so I can try them all out when I get my AGT?

    Software Bugs

My 2016 Model S also does weird things with audio restarting when I get back in the car. Tesla seems to have never figured this out (at least up until my car stopped getting OTA updates in 2020). Slacker usually is reliable at resuming. FM usually will still play the same thing next time...

    Car completely non-responsive

In an EV, the 12v battery is charged by a converter from the main battery. It’s being used to power electronics throughout the car. Failure of that converter can lead to the 12v battery being drained and not recharged. This happened to my 2013 Model S about 6 months into owning it.

Just got your Air? Consider buying this stuff

Looks really nice. How do they anchor into the floor? Did you have to drill holes in the metal, or are they just hooked into the carpet below? How long to install? It's impressive that you've kept the white carpets that clean. Makes me want to reconsider getting them...

    Incorrect time?

Don’t forget naming and caching! We need to abolish DST, it’s insanely hard to work around congress changing when it starts every few years.

What would you like to see from the Lucid mobile app?

I think it would be cool if the app theme matched the current theme in the car, and if it could be changed from the app. I also wish the car could automatically change that theme either by weather conditions or time of day.

    OTA 1.2.9

They probably adjusted the rate of pressure onset to the break pads. Maybe they added in motor assisted old as a way to give more time for the pads to clamp down. Increasing the brake system pressure more slowly could avoid the clunk noise.

    Mobile App 1.18.0

This could still be a problem that needs to be fixed with an update. If you are seeing the location of some other real Air then it’s a potential privacy problem.

    Aluminum and rubber dead pedal

I would also buy this if you can fabricate more of them. I like the design idea described.

Best way to plan a road trip

When I take trips in my Tesla on really long trips, I pick my route ahead of time to make sure there are chargers along it. There always are now, but that wasn’t always the case. I look to see if there are any spots where the chargers are particularly far apart, and if so plan to intentionally...

    problems and glitches

I got my first Model S in February 2013 with VIN ending in the 6000 range. The software was annoying for a few months, but after about a year and a half everything was pretty good. The second car I got 3.5 years later had faster hardware, higher resolution center screen, faster UI motions, etc...
