My Air touring has a cracked windshield and been in the shop for 11 weeks with no end in sight

It seems you are doing all the protesting that the forum should not be responding to JohnBoy's dilemma. All I am doing is questioning your truthfulness. So why don't you answer the following questions to validate your truthfulness: Do you own a Lucid Air? If so what model and color, and when...

My Air touring has a cracked windshield and been in the shop for 11 weeks with no end in sight

I am not so sure you are in a position question the veracity of a Forum poster's remarks. You are not listed on the on the Grand Touring Tracker. Maybe you have a DE. Your profile indicates you are 101 years old. If you are that old I doubt you could see the keyboard to make a post much less...

My Air touring has a cracked windshield and been in the shop for 11 weeks with no end in sight

Yeah, the service techs in DFW probably have already fixed JohnBoy's car but are using it for joyriding around town. Hope he checked his odometer before he handed it over to them. Ha ha.

If your situation is true, did you get customer care involved? You could also get your DA involved and he could push the problem up to Zac Edson, Director of Sales and Service. I would bet that if he knew about the problem, he could override the bureaucracy and get it fixed. Worth a try.

    Manufacturer Charging Rate Info

That same pervasive attitude has been the same for gasoline in ICE cars forever. Some ignorant people think that premium gas will work better than regular gas for their car when it doesn't make a difference except for high performance, high compression engines that require premium gas. Oh well!

Best Practices in Charging and Efficiency

Just check your electric bills over the last year determine your daily consumption for each month. If you take conservative measures (use your microwave instead of the electric stove, use only one TV, etc.) you can probably cut the daily consumption in half. Happy calculating! Also, don't...

Best Practices in Charging and Efficiency

Yes, the Lucid can handle 80A. The on-board chargring unit is rated at 19.2 KW. Therefore, 19200 watts/240V = 80A. That is also the maximum charging amps.

Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

Congrats! Which Service Center are they delivering it to? Are they then having it delivered to your home?

Took delivery last Friday! Thoughts on week one and unfortunate problem last night.

That is scary for sure. A new car driver's nightmare. By any chance did the car give you any indication something was wrong, such a s a screen going dark, or panel icon lighting up. or odd noises heard that you didn't hear before?

Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

All good. Just needed to get clarification. I am about to get my GT delivered at didn't want to get hit up with a last-minute surprise "surcharge".

Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

So you only paid the $1500 destination fee that everybody pays and is listed on the initial purchase order. Correct? Normally the destination fee is the shipping fee for the factory to dealership, and in the Lucid case, the shipping fee from the factory to the Service center.

Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

Why did you pay to have it shipped? Did they tell you they wouldn't ship to your home without paying? I've been told I would not have to pay shipping and I live 685 mi. from the Service Center in FL.

Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

I disagree. Until Lucid develops an extensive network of Studios and Service Centers they will have to cover the costs of shipping to homes remotely located from the Service Centers. It would be a big marketing mistake expect buyers to pay a premium of $3000(2-way) for shipping just because...

Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

That is not true. They will not deliver to homes that are within 2 hrs of the service center and will provide transportation for you to the service center. They cannot expect someone in my position who is an 11 hr drive from the nearest service center to pick up the car and drive the 11 hrs...

    12V Failure

I agree. They are probably still trying to figure out the problem. These batteries are run of the mill lead acid AGM batteries that most ICE cars use, and they are pretty reliable. I think it is unlikely this is a case of bad batteries, but it could still be. I am more inclined to believe it...

    Home Charging vs. Electrify America

Good question, my thoughts as well. I will soon be getting my GT delivered and was wondering if the car will have this software update.

    Home Charging vs. Electrify America

If you haven't seen this test, you should read it to answer your question. Charging at 350kw only gains you about 6 min. of time over a 150kw, and only below 50kwh charge. If 6 min. means that much to you then go ahead. But as others have noted, you risk heat damage to the battery and...

Things you wished you asked on delivery...

What do you mean "in the 90 min we had"? Did the Lucid host put a limit on the time he would be there? I was planning to spend a couple of hours at least going over the car at my delivery with my extensive checklist. He's trying to get you to sign off on the delivery, so if one refuses to...
