R1S ride quality is significantly better than Model X. I don't think the point is even disputable.

Escalade IQ set for 2025 promises 450 mi/range

Then you should be driving a subcompact with a 25 kWh -45 kWh pack. Not a Lucid Air, Rivian SUV, or Tesla. Climate change is a scientific problem that requires a scientific solution. We need to transition the global economy to carbon free renewable energy. Climate change is not a religious...

Escalade IQ set for 2025 promises 450 mi/range

You don't need luck. You need a big pack. GM has been conservative with their range ratings on Ultium. F150 Lightning big pack is 131 kWh. Not easy peasy.

New 2023 Lucid Air Sapphire review: 1200bhp supersaloon tested!

Motor Trend, Car & Driver, and other outlets are saying 1234 hp. HP is limited by how much energy can be pulled from the battery not how much power the motors can make.

    Sapphire in September

Backwards. 2/3 sales for X and 1/3 for S. S peaked in ~2017 when it crested over 50k units. Tesla no longer offers right hand drive S/X and there are so many more direct competitors. Gravity will not really cannibalize Escalade/IQ sales. Gravity will draw from Cayenne- Audi Q7/8, Q8...

Escalade IQ set for 2025 promises 450 mi/range

Obviously it will have a huge battery. 212 kWh with 200 kWh useable. On 350 kW charger it will take a few more minutes. DC fast charging from 0-100% is for dummies. You charge enough to get home or the next charger. On a Signet DC Fast charger derated to 50 kW both Gravity and Escalade will...

Escalade IQ set for 2025 promises 450 mi/range

It has a 12 cubic foot frunk AND 450 miles of range. Don't see evidence you can do that with ICE chassis.

Consumer Reports rating of the Touring in Aug 2023 issue.

Most Americans don't think there is brand placement gap between $50k and $80k. Or even $150k. This is where luxury automotive brands compete. Lucid already competes with $200B behemoths. VW Group's Audi, Porsche, Bentley, Toyota's Lexus, GM's Cadillac, Ford's Lincoln, Hyundai's Genesis, Tata's...

7 manufacturers to create new charging network

More than 75% of BEVs on American roads are Teslas. 6 would be fine for now if they are all worked at rated speed 97% plus of the time. Being out of service for months while Superchargers are down 3 business days at most is unacceptable. When a Supercharger goes down Tesla HQ knows about...

7 manufacturers to create new charging network

EA doesn't need to be replaced. Likely, more and better competition for non-Tesla BEV customers will make it better.

There aren't 2 gas station networks.

New 2023 Lucid Air Sapphire review: 1200bhp supersaloon tested!

I hope Lucid installs " Oh Sh!t" handles for the front passenger. They are gonna need it.

    Gravity Launch

Model S is the most conventional design in the Tesla lineup. Looks like a Jaguar or Maserati. It has gone through three different looks. Nose-Cone. Post Nose-Cone. And the current most aerodynamic iteration which I call Bulbous. Original Model S was AC induction motor rear wheel drive with...

    Gravity Launch

GM has a 70k plus waiting list for the Hummer EV which is more inefficient than the Cadillac IQ if for no other reason the massive offroad tires. And it is also 6.67" wider than the Silverado EV. Escalade IQ will be at least thrice as efficient as ICE Escalade.

Missed Q2 2023 Production and Delivery Numbers

This is a straw man argument. Is anyone saying Gravity will be a mass produced vehicle? Lucid doesn't have the scale to mass produce right now. Model X probably sells over 2X what the Model S does. Tesla refuses to tell us the sales mix. Gravity should follow suit and sell over twice as...

NACS (Tesla adapter) versus CCS Megathread

EV tech can't be reduced to simply voltage. Although that is an important metric. In any case, the imminent release of Cybertruck will likely reveal a battery pack close to 1000v. BTW I don't dream of the Saudi's owning the American vehicle fueling infrastructure of the future.

NACS (Tesla adapter) versus CCS Megathread

Why buy an outdated car with a future proof port instead of a car with a future proof battery pack with an outdated port? You can get an adapter to overcome the port issue. You can't upgrade the current Tesla pack to 800v Plus.

NACS (Tesla adapter) versus CCS Megathread

Peter said Superchargers need to charge at 800v plus before Lucid considers changing. That could be as soon as this September. The writing is on the wall. Everyone selling cars inside the USA will switch to NACS eventually.

    Gravity Launch

It is better to have the Pure buyers run than the Dream and GT buyers run. Build the top spec versions first. Hopefully the ramp up the second time around isn't as slow. They have experience now.
