    2023 Q4 Deliveries

That was the Headlines reported in the press. In reality it was long wait times for repairs because Tesla takes their time delivering parts for collision repair. This down time cost Hertz money in lost rental revenue. And Hertz took a bath when they sold their Teslas. Because they bought...

mi/$ not that great in CA for EVs?

And yet Lucid is showing a pickup truck in investor slide decks. I am sure battery tech will be just perfect in 5 years LOL.

mi/$ not that great in CA for EVs?

December 23 was the best month so far for Lightning. No $40k Cybertruck Vaporware hanging over Ford's head. I think Lightning will sell every truck they make profitably. $15k off Platinum trims at years end is normal course of business for Ford Trucks. MSRPs have ridiculous markups...

mi/$ not that great in CA for EVs?

Ford isn't cutting EV production. It is reducing the planned increase for 2024. Example In 2023 Ford sold just over 24k Lightnings. It previously planned to make 160k Lightings in 2024. Revised projection is 80k Lightnings. That is 3.3X as many Ford electric trucks in 2024 as in 2023.

    Cybertruck structure vs accident safety

Tesla is well known for making vehicles unable to pass homologation test and be sold legally anywhere. VinFast laps Tesla in safety engineering. Ford made an aluminum body truck at a time when only a handful of shops in large metro areas across America where repairing aluminum bodied Audi A8s...

Off-Topic CyberTruck is now in showrooms

A single test mule didn't make it up past Hollister Hills. Lots of Test mules fail. That is their job. That F350 has pitiful payload capacity and towing capacity compared to a Freightliner LOL.

Lucid Party @ Gravity Reveal-LA AutoShow November, 2023?

This is a Rivian R1S in Launch Green. I don't think that is similar to Gravity green. The only thing Lucid needs to learn from Rivian is launch the trucks first then worry about the sedans. And later still razor thin margin commercial vans. Next up should be an EQE SUV and Model Y...

Lucid Party @ Gravity Reveal-LA AutoShow November, 2023?

Relatively speaking, LCID is doing great today.

Lucid Party @ Gravity Reveal-LA AutoShow November, 2023?

Y'all think you can fit a spare tire in the sub frunk like the Air?

Lucid Party @ Gravity Reveal-LA AutoShow November, 2023?

Lucid isn't developing their own chemistries. Lucid-Atieva's core competency in Formula E is battery pack architecture and battery pack management software. They are buying cells off the shelf. I am sure LG and Samsung have higher energy density chemistry. At higher cost per kWh.

    Engineering Explained discussing the Sapphire

Gravity will sell at least 2x Air. Because it is an SUV. Because that is what every other SUV does relative to the sedan that is based on does. If the automaker decides to make a sedan on the same platform. If Lucid was asking a $10k premium for Sapphire over GTP then it would be telling the...

    Tesla 1772 universal charger

Lucid Air is capable of 19.2 kW home charging and the Lucid home EVSE is compatible. If you are going to connect a 100 amp line to the EVSE the Lucid is a good option If you are going to connect it to a 40 or 50 amp line Tesla EVSEs are a good option. Tom Moloughney from State of Charge is...

    Sliding door gravity?

Gravity is not going to sell in Ford F-Series numbers. Not even in Toyota Camry numbers. Hopefully, it sells in Model X numbers. Having two rear door variants for such a low volume vehicle is incredibly dumb. I can't imagine Lucid does this. Sliding doors are more practical. Minivans in...

    NACS Megathread

CCS1 is used in US, Canada, Mexico and South Korea. After US and Canada switch so will Mexico and South Korea. Dumb to pour resources into CCS1. European CCS2 is a complexly different kettle of fish. Tesla uses CCS2 in Europe.

    NACS Megathread

CHAdeMO will be gone in North America within 5 years, except for CA where it still might be required by law for charger station subsidies. CCS will last maybe another dozen years. After a decade or so of 98% plus of new BEVs being sold with NACS then CCS will be gone.

    Gravity Launch

These are not Tesla debates. They are Lucid/Tesla debates. Electric cars are judged by referring to the standard. Tesla. Wall Street judges other electric cars business success by referencing Tesla. How will Gravity business success be judged? How does sales compare to Model X. Tesla...

    Gravity Launch

Through Sept Tesla has sold 45,905 Model S and X worldwide this year. IMO, roughly 31k of those sales are X. Peter would throw his mum under the lorry to sell 31k Gravity in 2025.

Oil giant bp to buy $100 million of Superchargers from Tesla.

Their (Teslas) name will not be on the Superchargers. They will carry one of the BP brands like Arco/AmPm/TravelCenters of America etc. It would be good for EV owners to buy EVs and electricity at razor thin margins or at a loss for the EV manufactures and charging providers. But not good...
