Why is No One Talking About All of the Improvements to the 2025 GT?!?

    Forgot to clarify I do have 20s. That’s a 10% or roughly 0.3 miles/kw difference right there.

Why is No One Talking About All of the Improvements to the 2025 GT?!?

Yea agreed… 3.1 or 3.2 sounds about right. That’s my lifetime average in my Touring works out to about 25% under EPA

Why is No One Talking About All of the Improvements to the 2025 GT?!?

240 miles full charge for older GT and 2025 Touring?

Out of Spec - Gravity vs Escalade

In Northern CA electricity is expensive enough that this would literally cost more to fill up than a full size ICE guzzler. If it had closer to 2.5miles/kwh efficiency, I would consider one especially with all the huge deals. I’ve seen some $600/month leases. I do agree, they look awesome.

Interview with Peter at InsideEV - 180 mile EVs are the future

great point! I really wish battery swaps were a thing here. Apparently they are doing a lot of battery swap options in China. But I feel like EVs could literally become lifetime use if you could swap out batteries and constantly have the old degraded batteries refurbished over time.

Interview with Peter at InsideEV - 180 mile EVs are the future

lol yea. I see a lot of those cheap EV uber/lyft drivers as well. People will go well out of their way for free stuff!! I do wonder if charging your bolt for 1 hour at 50kw saves you more than you lose by not driving for that hour 🤔

Interview with Peter at InsideEV - 180 mile EVs are the future

I think this is the big issue that bars many people from being able to go EV. I don't disagree. We've lived through the era of 100-200 mile cheap EVs with 25-40kwh batteries that can be charged overnight and it did not pan out. And if you have a garage to charge overnight. You can easily...

Interview with Peter at InsideEV - 180 mile EVs are the future

Yea that's a fair point. I still think people would rather future proof themselves for a negligible amount of money. America is the land of excess and Hummers and Suburbans. We have to change our culture. I can see 180 mile EVs working in Europe maybe. People seem much happier with smaller...

Interview with Peter at InsideEV - 180 mile EVs are the future

What is “low cost” though? If efficiency increases and battery size decreases, that means the cost to put 300 miles or 180 miles becomes small too. Why would anyone limit themselves for no reason? There’s a reason why ICE cars average around 250-300 miles of range. That’s just what sells. 180...

Interview with Peter at InsideEV - 180 mile EVs are the future

For some reason I thought the original plan for Lucid was to keep high range the differentiating factor and reduce the battery size and cost as technology improves. Like we got the 88kwh Pure with 400 EPA range at 5.0 miles/kw. The next step going to 6 miles/kw. Just seems odd that the company...

Interview with Peter at InsideEV - 180 mile EVs are the future

I mean it’s relative right? Cars probably won’t ever go below 20-25k in our lifetime. If the difference between $25k and $26k means having a one-car solution vs being a second car for around town commuting. But oh if you need to go more than 90 miles one way you need to rent a car or have a...

Interview with Peter at InsideEV - 180 mile EVs are the future

Anyone want to help explain the concept of how 180 mile EVs are the answer to the future of EVs. Im having trouble wrapping my head around it. https://insideevs.com/news/750380/lucid-ceo-midsize-range-miles/ I feel like this recipe has already been tried. The second gen Leaf offered 160 miles...

Sadly saying goodbye to my Lucid

Is this the first time you’ve blown the tires on the Lucid. Would it be fair to say any car would’ve blown tires in the same position? Given that you’re on 19s, they are pretty standard size for any non-performance sedan. I can’t imagine any other car doing better. You’d probably have to jump up...

Nice! That does seem better than usual. Do you remember or have documented the total time taken from 15-80? Wonder if it beats the usual 37 minute time these cars take

    EA Megathread

That’s not right. It shows 300kw peak. Pure and Touring can’t hit that. Lucid themselves say “up to 250kw” on their own website. Must be a GT or Dream Edition curve mistakenly posted. But that being said, yes those cars can do 170kw at 50%.

    EA Megathread

Here’s an ideal curve for a Touring from another thread. If you have a Pure AWD it will mimick the Touring curve. If you have a Pure RWD it will be slightly lower. But roughly you’ll see 200kw at 10% and 150kw at 30%
