Exclusive First Look | 2021 Lucid Air Dream Edition

Well said. Besides the performance value-added being unclear, the added range is nice, but not if at the expense of other qualities. 500 is better than 400 in isolation, but I bought an S when it was 200. Give me 400 if it gains me better trim, space, handling, etc. Heck, give me 300 miles...

Exclusive First Look | 2021 Lucid Air Dream Edition

I’m conflicted on the Air. And it’s mostly due to value over the S. One thing that is clear is that Lucid has spent a lot of time and money on the EV drive train, which manifests in range and performance. On one hand, this focus did lead to an impressive 500 mile range and 9.9. And it bodes...

Exclusive First Look | 2021 Lucid Air Dream Edition

Not really a new development, but from the YouTube channels, I really like the layout and design style of the front of the cabin. A similar feel of the future S Class and other new Mercedes layouts. We looked at a GLE recently and going back to the Model S seemed very 2012 (where does time go?)...

Exclusive First Look | 2021 Lucid Air Dream Edition

Great video. A better look than the reveal in some regards. I have to remind myself that the reveal was likely more for people that don’t post several times a day on a Lucid forum. But the website is kind of awful. Needs more substance. I’m intrigued by the HP variance from basically the...

Official Lucid Air Launch Event (9.9) Thread

SIAP, but is the acceleration inclusive a launch control? Negatives: -Not in love with the Dream Edition colors. -I hoped 0-60 would be closer to 2.2. -I prefer the S aesthetics, although the front view is sleek. (A very good looking car, I’m nitpicking) - price, in the sense I’ll give the...

Yes. I give Tesla credit for cutting costs by digitizing controls. I bought it as minimalistic until I was daily driving, but there’s a limit. I think Polestar and Lucid have done a great job eliminating extraneous analog controls, without going too far. We’ll see if that’s true in person!

Lucid Motors’ second act will be an all-electric SUV called Gravity

I’m intrigued. I like what I know of the Rivian, but Lucid has my ear Edit: Perhaps it’s due to knowing so much about the Air, but I think the Gravity impressed me more. If I can say that about vague pictures with no specs.

Lucid’s DNA in Formula-E pack making is a big reason I’m bullish on their success

    Base Model

I think this reminded me of an interview Rawlinson gave E for Electric talking about the +/- on more motors.

    Base Model

415 sounds about right. I wonder if they offer a single motor option with the 113kWh pack, if it could better the 517 miles?

    Egg on Face Edition

Brutal imo. Is this a product of EA being born from an ICE manufacturer? Probably not, and rather just standard incompetence, but it does give fodder to those that champion the Tesla ecosystem. I’ve hoped for utilities to get into the charging space, both DC and home, particularly those within...

    Lucid Air Pricing Revealed

I’m excited. My first time driving one is going to be like a first date after months of correspondence online. I hope I don’t disappoint the Air.

Official Lucid Air Launch Event (9.9) Thread

All very good points, imo. Circling back to Lucid, Rawlinson seems to be more of the CEO committed to making the best EV. I’ve increasingly not got that sense from Musk. Tesla has a lot going on. Musk is frying a lot of eggs at once. But that approach and mindset is arguably the strength and...

Lucid Air Wagon Is The Perfect Electric SUV Antidote

I gag, but likely a fairly effective way for Lucid to grab Europe.

Official Lucid Air Launch Event (9.9) Thread

Maybe I should start another thread, but I agree with the first part. If Tesla executes, the sky’s the limit for Tesla. EVs should be to Tesla what search engines were to Google imo. I feel Lucid can exploit this and focus on making better cars, albeit more expensive. With the base in energy...

    Lucid Air Pricing Revealed

Sadly, I agree. I hope for clarification, but anticipate a walk-back on the timing. There’s not much incentive for Lucid confirm the timing or specs out on the tri-motor tonight, other than saying it’ll be great, but not available for awhile

Official Lucid Air Launch Event (9.9) Thread

With these type of glamour companies, perception is often more important than reality. I think it depends on how the stock gets to 9/22. The Tesla Fanboys were in well before this summer, and they’ll come out of the most mundane Tesla event thinking it’s Tesla’s right to hit 600. So were the...

My expectations for Battery Day are going up, and they were already high. Even if much of it turns out to be vaporware, in the moment, it’s going to seem big.

Official Lucid Air Launch Event (9.9) Thread

I’ve never so eagerly anticipated car reveals as I do now with EVs. I guess this is how people into tech, music, movies, video games, feel? On the verge of Rawlinson’s next masterpiece, I tip my cap to his first EV triumph, for getting this obsession of mine started.
