Out of Spec - Gravity vs Escalade

A sizeable minority on the Facebook Lucid Owners Group are whinging about the Gravity’s looks, talking about “it looks too much like a minivan!” A few are threatening to cancel their order. If the Gravity fails, it will just be another indication that enough American drivers place a higher...

Anyone else doing high mileage on their Air?

At 49,800 miles as of this morning. I’ll fall out of warranty on my next drive to work. Bought the car in Sep. 2022. Two years and four months of ownership. I’m not worried. I expect my Lucid to be every bit as reliable and largely problem-free as our previous Teslas.

The API shows a value named "battery health level". What is it?

Ah. Different from what I was told this time last year, that I would be getting “a brand new battery”. I pressed the point with the Lucid service advisor I was working with at the time in Costa Mesa. I asked him to confirm that it was a brand new battery I was getting. And he blithely did...

    Software Improvements and Features Suggestions

Besides some kind of dashcam/sentry mode system, all I want Lucid to add at this point is some kind of Tesla-like “bong!” when the traffic light turns green. As for any kind of “Lucid FSD” - meh…apart from highway cruising and crawling along in stop-n-go traffic on the 405, it’s just not my thing.

    Expectations on Mileage loss?

The last time I checked on my two-year-old GT with almost 50K miles and a BRAND NEW main battery installed in early 2024, it was at 106 kW capacity (out of a theoretically possible 112 kW). I stopped checking after that.

First pre-production Gravity reviews are coming in

I’ll believe Lucid is gaining on Tesla in the software/UI department when they drop an update that includes “Lucid Dashcam”. I’m pretty satisfied with everything else, but that dashcam, that would be just the thing that would tell me that Lucid’s UI software has arrived.

First pre-production Gravity reviews are coming in

Even if you never have a kid, they’re unbeatably practical, and in the case of Honda Odysseys, a lot of fun to drive. I was pretty excited when I got my second and last minivan. That was in late 2016, when I bought my last ICE vehicle. Our house went all EV the following year.

First pre-production Gravity reviews are coming in

I did my darnedest to make minivans cool, opening up the rear tailgate to pull out my surfboard stored inside and everything. Was a very proud owner of two Honda Odysseys. Have no objection at all to Gravity’s so-called “minivan looks”.

Post your mi/kWh efficiency in inclement weather

Me too, pretty much. I wish there was some way we could “lock out” that Trip A trip meter so that it can’t be tempered with, even accidentally.

    RESOLVED Rear Deck Creaking Noise

This is the very thing that they’re going to do to my car when Mobile Service arrives at my house after Thanksgiving. I’m looking forward to the creaking going away!

Gjeebs has an interesting and thankfully abbreviated take on the whole thing. I love how NOT-seriously he takes everything.

    Wind noise

Be happy to, @Bobby. But I have to tell you, I got a loaner car back in February this year that had the same wind noise-thing going on. I resigned myself to thinking that this must be normal.

    Wind noise

My door seals were changed once, earlier this year in June. It seemed to have made a little difference. Now that the weather is turning cooler here in San Diego CA, especially in the chilly early morning hours, it’s becoming more prominent again, the wind noise that is. By the time I...
