Exactly. They’re doing their best with a ton of demand.

Yep, still waiting on PDI to start. I’m quite certain that the bottleneck is the inspection instead of factory QC. Hopefully will take delivery this week otherwise I’ll have to reschedule my PPF appointment. I was originally quoted delivery 3-8 weeks after VIN (just hit 3 weeks today) and my DA...

    Polestar 2

Great perspective. Agreed about sportiness vs. the Ioniq 5 and their lease rates are excellent too

    Polestar 2

I test drove it several times and much prefer it over the Tesla Model 3 and Y. The drawback is pretty inferior range, a fairly cramped cabin if you’re tall/broad like myself, smaller back seat, worse stereo, less storage and meh seats (unless you get the ventilated leather). Handling can be...

    Weird Glitch

I forgot you had that issue. It would make a lot of sense actually - the DSP could be erroneously sending signal to the channel for that speaker. I have had this happen on my own speaker designs before where I’m using DSP to make crossovers. Usually an indicator of a faulty component.

    Air Dream Deliveries?

I’m highly dubious of a discount. They can’t deliver fast enough and can’t produce fast enough. Demand still far outstrips capacity. Advertising means absolutely nothing for estimating existing demand. Skate for where the puck is going, not where it is. You must add future demand well before you...

Which MB burmeister are you comparing to? There is a big variance in quality of the MB audio systems from the lower end cars to the high-bed. My last one (2018 E400 wagon) was excellent but lacked the soundstage the Lucid can get.

    Release Version Megathread

Agreed VM is the way to go in dev, but never encountered on embedded devices :)

    Release Version Megathread

So it has been running inside a VM instead of the metal? That’s quite unexpected, and I’m guessing due to several different types of hardware used initially. Maybe easier to virtualize into a single environment at the start instead of developing for several different sets of hardware. Once they...

Thanks for the update. I’m rooting for them - these things take time, especially architecture changes.

    Real Life Drive experience

Not heresy at all. I definitely think it could be better designed. When Porsche released the original Cayenne it had only one button for lock/unlock and customers hated it, prompting them to update it the next year iirc.

I vote for a rapid click then a press-hold to open/close the trunk. Different enough from the alarm to be intuitive.

At least those are a straightforward fix. Congrats on getting the car!

    stiff steering

That’s way sooner than I thought they’d launch the AMG. The configurator isn’t live either. How’d you get one so soon?

Totally get you. I'm past my window now by a few days but would rather it be right than rushed, same as you :)

    Most wanted features/fixes firmware v 1.2.1

I figured click then press-hold simply because it fits with the frunk‘s single press-hold. And if you click four times you set off the alarm :)

    Lucid on the track

+1 to racing school. Did this a long time ago and it made me a vastly better driver, and I credit those skills with saving my life multiple times.

    Most wanted features/fixes firmware v 1.2.1

I have an idea for Lucid actually related to the fob and trunk, and I think it’ll work: add a new fob button combination for the trunk. The frunk is a long press-hold. Simply add a short press before to pop the trunk - short press, then press-hold. I’ve not found documentation on the protocol...

    Grand Touring Tracker (Archive)

I’d guess at least a week before they get to PDI. Millbrae is slammed and the team there is doing their damnedest to get through all the cars, but there’s a lot of them and more arriving daily. That’s what we get for picking up at the best (and busiest) of all the centers! :D

    Leaking fluid

Funny enough, the smaller size may reduce the dimensional weight enough to make air-freight pretty economical. A smaller heavy item will often ship cheaper than a larger
