A Total Eclipse from the Car!!!! (New England Spring Lucid Rally)

Hi everyone, the final plans haven’t been completely set yet, but here’s where things stand. We have two options for eclipse viewing: Burlington or Stowe. For both options, we would plan to leave before 8 am from Newton, MA to arrive in VT by noon-ish. My friend will be bringing a telescope...

A Total Eclipse from the Car!!!! (New England Spring Lucid Rally)

Not a problem! After all... (Turn around, bright eyes) Every now and then we drive apart! Depending upon how crowded Burlington might be and upon weather, we may need to head up to Lancaster, too. My buddy, who is an amateur astronomer, will be with me and is bringing his telescope. He grabbed...

A Total Eclipse from the Car!!!! (New England Spring Lucid Rally)

No decisions about this, but there are several possibilities. I think the best place to see the eclipse could be from the Colchester causeway, which is a 10 foot walking path crossing parts of Lake Champlain. You’ll definitely have unobstructed views, but it’ll be windy and cold. However...

Lucid Air GT fishtailing in light snow

Drove in Maine on hilly unsalted roads with ice and snow on 19” tires. We saw several cars fishtail, slip, and just give up. The Lucid stayed planted and steady.

What a Difference a Tire Makes!!

We did a 240 mile road trip in 30 degree weather from Boston to Camden, ME today. I figured we would get 3.1 mi/kWh, as I usually average 3.4 mi/kWh across all conditions. Instead, driving an average of 10 mph above the speed limit (including 80 mph on the Maine pike) but traveling mainly on...

    Backseat cover for dogs

The door protector works really well. My doggo will hop up and bark at dogs outside, and it keeps her nails from scratching the leather. It attaches via tabs that slot in next to the window screen. See picture here. I've been very happy with the purchase..

    Winter driving

I drove our Lucid AGT with 19” tires at 5 am for 40 miles during the storm we had this weekend in New England. Slush, ice, snow, and freezing rain with the roads just barely plowed. The Lucid did great. One little slip as I went around a curve but it was just for an instant and corrected right...

    The electric car everyone needs.

That’s just the window reflection. FYI… this is the official car for the hotel we stayed at in Thekkady, India. It’s a perfect car for India, as you can’t really go above 80kph anywhere, and most two lane roads have four or more lanes of traffic on them simultaneously.

    The electric car everyone needs.

Meet the MG Comet, a rebranded Wuling Air. The MG Comet starts at 800K rupees, or $9600. It’s got a whole 40HP, a 17.3 kWh battery, and a range of 230km (143 miles). It isn’t capable of level 3 charging but with a battery that small, who cares?
