Where Did Preconditioning Go From the Lucid App?

preconditioning I think takes 20-30 min and essentially warms up the battery to better accommodate high DC charging. There is a charger near my house that only take me 5 min to drive to so preconditioning as I leave my house if almost pointless in the winter. It would be great to be able to...

Where Did Preconditioning Go From the Lucid App?

Can you precondition the battery without driving it? I tried it the other day where I went to my garage and started preconditioning the battery in prep for driving to charging station. Then I left and returned 30min later and drove to charger while preconditioning my car again. However, I'm not...

Lucid cold weather performance as bad as Tesla

This is so true!!! I find myself getting caught up with odd things about EVs that I'd never even consider in an ICE and this is a great reminder of how skewed my perspective can get. Great reminder!

    Help interpreting efficiency and range

Edmunds has a long term AGT and I think that has an observed efficiency of 27.3kwh/100 miles, or so. Which doesn't equal to 505 miles on a dream edition car, at least not in a single charge

    Help interpreting efficiency and range

But then that suggests that the battery pack is 143kwh or that they didn't get to 505 miles in 1 single charge

    Help interpreting efficiency and range

But when you read the article, it says that their observed efficiency of 28.3 was calculated after they charged the car to 100%?!

    Help interpreting efficiency and range

https://www.edmunds.com/car-news/tested-2022-lucid-air-dream-sets-new-ev-range-record.html I'm wondering if someone can help me understand some of these results. According to this Edmunds article, they were able to achieve a real world range of 505 miles for the dream range edition car but then...

2 week review and Winter tire issue

Thanks for sharing! I assume that most of your 3000km were driven at much milder temps than 7 degrees? hope lucid can address the significant non-driving battery drain through OTA update as I've read their BMS software could be optimized.

2 week review and Winter tire issue

are you saying that your lucid SC sync'd the TPMS you purchased from TireRack to your car with no charge? They have to register the TPMS IDs to your car. My SC is charging me $185 to change the settings on my car to accomodate the 19" wheels (21s initially) and sync the tpms. They won't do the...

FIrst Drive On Icy and Snowy Roads

@DJL I am also in the Pacific NW and experienced the same snowy weather system. I have winter tires on though, 19", as my 21s had summer tires which would never have worked in this weather. I took it out today and noted that overall experience was excellent! Actually less slipping than my Tesla...

Building my own winter tire/wheel set

My range has increased/improved vs summer although I only had a few hundred kms on the summer 21"s. I'm getting on average 4.3km/kwh now (2.7mi/kwh; range 4.1-5km/kwh or 2.6-3.13mi/kwh depending on ambient temp) and only about 4km/kwh (2.5mi/kwh) with my 21s with ambient temp in 12-14 celcius

Building my own winter tire/wheel set

I purchased these as a set from TireRack with Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 tires, which according to TireRack fits/is appropriate for the AGT. I didn't think about confirming with Lucid re: tires as I bought from tirerack specifically because I was able to choose my vehicle and they displayed...

Volvo C40 recharge vs Lucid software

My mclaren 600lt is one of my favorite cars...but the iris system is pretty bad. It never remembers where I left off on Bluetooth for music, has no built in homelink, voice command is probably 10 years dated, navigation unusable (very outdated maps and terrible algorithm) and it will NEVER get...

    Lucid future and possible consequences

Oh wow. I didn't realize Polestar added that. That's incredible and refreshing. The luxury legacy car makers aren't really adding of substance with their OTA updates (or at least MB and porsche).

    Lucid future and possible consequences

But have they added anything significant functionally?

    Lucid future and possible consequences

Thanks for you opinion. As I drive the air more I appreciate it more and more as well. It is a very well built car for an inital iteration and I was fully prepared when I purchased it that this was a start up. I am hoping for the best outcome as I do think lucid is the only real company that can...

    Lucid future and possible consequences

As an GT owner, I'm not trying to be negative or a troll but I wanted to see what others think about an issue I worry about. We are all probably aware of the financial situation of lucid and other electric car companies not named Tesla including the recent post about lucid's attempts to save...

2 week review and Winter tire issue

My service advisor told me that he thinks that the charge/reprogramming would need to occur everytime the wheels were changed, at least until it is written in the software. He did pass it along to headquarters though.
