It is a PR thing for Uber, a distraction for Lucid. Yes, I know Uber also invested in Lucid. The vast majority of robotaxis will not be Lucid vehicles. Lucid needs to "right-the-ship" to survive. I am a fan of Robo-Taxi. Been riding Waymo for years. Robo-taxi is an unneeded...

Lucid Air in Service Queue for 7 Weeks. What Does This Mean for Long-Term Ownership?

I don't think hiring more service techs is the only solution, nor is ot the best solution. In a different post, I strongly urge Lucid to "Re-Think" their service model. Specifically, get rid of the things other non-Lucid service center can perform and focus the Lucid SC on the power train and...

Ummm, you mean, "we need to focus and execute?" What a novel idea?!

Lucid Air in Service Queue for 7 Weeks. What Does This Mean for Long-Term Ownership?

True, but a company that has a history of launching products that are "not-ready-for-prime-time", coupled with poor post-sales service, will have a tough sell. Cosmos buyers are not your Lucid Air/Gravity buyers. Cosmos byers won't tolerate the kind of issues in Lucid's prior products and...

Lucid Air in Service Queue for 7 Weeks. What Does This Mean for Long-Term Ownership?

Battery/motor/software, yes, Lucid should own those service items. But regular maintenance, fluids, wheel alignment, tires, 12V battery, tires, and many other mundane items can be serviced by Discount Tires. The current service backlog is a cancer to scaling Lucid's business.

Lucid Air in Service Queue for 7 Weeks. What Does This Mean for Long-Term Ownership?

I agree. By the time Cosmos arrives in earnest, Lucid will be a couple of years behind Rivian and other $45,000 EVs. All the other competitors already have a much more extensive service infrastructure than Lucid.

Lucid Air in Service Queue for 7 Weeks. What Does This Mean for Long-Term Ownership?

40k is a decent and a respectable number for Year 1. Still, it will take A LOT of discipline to get there without the kind of intro problems that the Air and Gravity encountered. Unlike the Air/Gravity audience, the Cosmos buyers will be much less tolerant and forgiving, as they should be!

We shall see how many of those 30k-50k Gravity robo-taxi actually materialize and when. Cosmos's schedule and robustness is another factor.

EPA vs real world range: maybe Gravity isn't so bad after all

Not really....I am an University of Toronto Grad. BUT, I worked for many years under the tutorage of several very famous Caltech alums. Maybe something rubbed off on me. ;)

I get that. But most Cosmos and Earth buyers likely won't have 3 or 4 cars in their garages and can afford to have the car be in service for 30+ days. For many, it might be a car they depend on every day. Lucid is a "country-mile" away from that milestone! I hope Lucid gets there! But it...

I agree with you with respect that buying a heavily depreciated, low mileage, 1–3-year-old Lucid is probably the best strategy. That said, it doesn't bode well for Lucinid's future if that's the model!

That's why they are still in prison! Honesty is the best, and only, policy. The truth will set you free! "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:32, New Testament.

Well said! The steep (significantly steeper than competitors) depreciation is an often-overlooked metric in the buying decision. As in my example, Rivian might not have Lucid's swager, but it keeps its value much better. These metrics might not faze many of the original Lucid enthusiasts as...

Agree with all of @Northpoint's remarks. I just started on my 5th year of my ownership on my 2022 AGT. By far and away, the biggest "expense" is the depreciation of Lucid' s vehicles. To me. it significantly high than other brands. I think the data is out there. You can research it yourself...

Does your definition of "Cost-of-ownership" only address maintenance or does it also include depreciation? If you are talking only about maintenance, my 2022 AGT ran about $700/year, primarily for the annual maintenances, tires, fluids, etc.. SW is Lucis's Achilles heel. For my car, the...

Am I Going to be Serviced Under Warranty?

Exactly! To be clear, I am NOT baiting you guys. I don't have a known problem per se. But, as @Bdr100 correctly articulated, I haven't crawled underneath the car to check everything. If maintenance can be scheduled AND SERVICED BY LUCID within the warranty time frame, then there is no...

Am I Going to be Serviced Under Warranty?

Interesting point: Let me raise an "absurd point" for contemplation: > I try to schedule a regular maintenance appointment with Lucid, but itis only avialble 6 months out. > at the time I made the appointment, there was no known error. > sometime between when I scheduled my maintenance...
