Car and Driver prototype drive of Porsche Cayenne EV

Final nail in the coffin for me with my Rivian was no Android Auto or Automotive. My wife and I now have two vehicles with Android Auto and native Android Automotive. They are the same except the native has a connection to vehicle state of charge so is better for road trip rout planning.

    Bike Mounts and Crossbars

But still no voice command for navigation-you gotta type in everything, no text message handling whatsoever, and using Alexa for phone call controls. Correct?

    Bike Mounts and Crossbars

Gotta admit I never thought of mounting the cross bar and using a bungie to improve stability when I was hauling my bikes with the tailgate pad.

    Bike Mounts and Crossbars

I dumped my Rivian R1T this August. I am not happy at all with that enterprise for quite a few reasons. I was an early purchaser with a day one deposit. They promised hands free driving to us when we ordered but nope. They delivered vehicles with with wireless phone charging that never...

Seems like this one would not land on the upper brake light:

    Bike Mounts and Crossbars

 I have a list of potential cars and every single one of them has a deal killer issue! My only wants are EV, 275 mi + highway range, carry bikes, reasonable back seat room, serats that aren't black, good handling/steering and software that works or is on the path to being good within 6...

    Bike Mounts and Crossbars

Regarding efficiency; On a Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo (wagon) a single roof mounted road bike sans front wheel reduces range by 25% at 65 mph. with much of the loss caused by the rack itself Of that about same bike mounted on a rear rack exhibits a 5% range reduction. I would expect the...

    Bike Mounts and Crossbars

You've answered for the entire community? FYI, I have experience with such a system on a Miata and never damaged paint. As insurance a couple of small discs of PPF can be used. I'm concerned about panel strength and fitment.

Car and Driver prototype drive of Porsche Cayenne EV

I think there are many other factors differentiating the Gravity from Cayenne EV than OPD and 600 kW blended braking. Things like handling / steering feedback (Porsche), interior space (Lucid by far), reliability (so far neither), price (Lucid), place of manufacture (depends on your outlook)...

    Gravity test drives?

Test drove in Houston over the weekend. Have a deposit from day one for the wife. She was unimpressed so we are cancelling the order. Sorry Lucid!

    Real World Hwy efficiency numbers

The numbers being reported at ~75 mph are actually promising. The EPA test is a composite of 55% city driving with an average 48 mph speed and 45% highway at a constand 60 mph. Driving 75 mph is about 30% less efficient than 60 mph.

20-ish mile range difference between 5 seat and 7 seat Gravity?

Seems like the most logical reason so far.

20-ish mile range difference between 5 seat and 7 seat Gravity?

What if the underbody for the 7 seater is shaped differently...think less diffusey? That will have a definite effect on the cD.
