To EV makers, sure, although I'd argue it shouldn't have been there at all. And certainly not for decades. If it had to exist, they should have left the first one in place IMO as it's structure was more reasonable and logical ($1.5B to each manufacturer as a boost to get them into the EV...

Exactly. People say "But EVs are simple! Way fewer parts compared to ICE!". The drivetrain may be simpler but the rest of the car, the supply chains, the labor, the sales operations, the marketing, the service centers, the parts departments, the financing, and the massive capital investment to...

Definitely a slaughter in stock value, but I wouldn't say they couldn't have had a worse couple of CEOs because the odds of a startup EV automaker even making it this far are very long. They could have been Fisker... or Nikola... or Lordstown... or Canoo... or Aptera... or 5-6 others that...

Those few sub+$3 trades snuck through for a few minutes between trading halts, that spooked some into dumping at any costs. IIRC, before and after that it was over $4.

And "crashes" aren't the only measure of better driving. For instance, I like to steer around potholes and dips and bumps where possible, not just drive right through them like the computer does because it's only looking at the lines and large objects. If I'm driving on snow I'll choose the...

    Service

Yep. For the lucky (or prescient) few that live close to one of the handful of service centers, they're in much better shape. For everyone else, well...

    Service

Yep. Frankly, I'm glad Cosmos got delayed by a year. They have their hands full now just trying (and presently failing) to provide timely service to their existing fleet. I know they need revenue from Cosmos sales, but they ain't gonna make it that far if they don't get service addressed...

A very frustrated 2026 Lucid Gravity owner journey

And it's still not fixed yet for some of us.

Lots of conflicting info out there. When I looked earlier I saw down a third. Now I'm seeing two sources say they exported 3.2M/day in August. I'm not seeing anything saying under 2M. But sources seem all over the map.

What I read is that they spent $5B but got back 2/3rds of that in revenues, for a $1.4B net loss. Either way though, it's a big number.

Some, but they've been able to keep most of it flowing between their pipelines to the Red Sea and with help from our military that kept a lot more tankers quietly moving than was initially reported. They are down about a third in volume but they more than made up for it in higher margins...

Times are tighter for the Saudis, but not for that reason. Profits are actually way up (33%) for ARAMCO because the tensions have driven up the price of oil and they've still been able to get most of it shipped. It's just that they were swimming in money for so many years and they've been...

The simple satisfaction of home dryer outlet charging

The value of home charging on cheap residential rates isn't sold enough for EVs. It may be the #1 advantage of buying an EV.

    Gravity Bugs / Issues

My Android Auto is doing that some now (since 3.6.3). It never used to. It was one of the few things that worked BETTER on this car than others. Never had it drop since they gave us AA months ago... until 3.6.3. Then all of sudden I was seeing occasional drops and immediate reconnects. Both...

    Starlink Mount

Update... just completed a 2500 mile road trip with the Starlink mounted in the side window at about 45 degrees as shown above. Results were positive, but not perfect. Speedtest was usually in the 45 Mbps area. Good, but still degraded from perfect. 45 is plenty for all practical needs...

    Gravity Bugs / Issues

Just returned from another 2500 mile road trip. Had one instance where the ACC failed with a "sensors blocked" error that stayed on for an hour. I assume it was because I was driving directly into the bright sunrise. But then when I pulled off and did the first DCFC of the day (and cleared...

    Gravity Bugs / Issues

Cool. Unfortunately this is another great example of the hit&miss nature of Lucid, and the Gravity in particular. There's a long list of issues that affect many, but not all. It's usually not just something that fails on one or two cars (which we'd write off as just normal, random component...

    Gravity Bugs / Issues

Seeing all the issues people had with Homelink, I never even bothered trying to set it up in the Gravity. Didn't need yet another software annoyance when this still works perfectly fine...

    Let rate our service center

I think these are more about how they feel about the workers and effort they put in, which is usually solid. Getting the car in, and how long the car has to sit there until they can finally get to it is often a different matter.

Is anybody successful in reaching Lucid for Annual Service

Never thought of that. Makes sense. The other difference with EVs is that friction brakes are *usually* just used for the last few MPH. That doesn't mean they don't still need to work well, of course, but if they do get weak, the risk is much lower than it is with an ICE.
