    Temp reading

Not sure what this has to do with temperature readings.... Alarm bell go off in my head when I see aluminum wiring. Used correctly it can be a good, strong, conductor. Used in household wiring it's often a fire hazard. What charging station do you have? Are the wire connectors compatible with...

    "Lucid Ramping up Deliveries"

It will certainly take time to reach profitablity. But even 5 years is too short for cost accounting to the individual cars. Normal useful life of the more expensive parts of the plant rang from 10-15 years for industrial robots to 20-30 years for stamping presses. (According to quick searches.)...

Why Donut labs solid state battery could be real

From what I understand, there are two design constraints sort of opposing each other: * Short term rate of charge/discharge--dictates both acceleration and Regen braking. When combined with the size of the battery, this is Power Density. * Amount of energy stored. Paired with size this is Energy...

    "Lucid Ramping up Deliveries"

This is the same fallacy as was levied towards Tesla in the Tesla Death Watch, $TSLAQ days. You do not ever amortize the capex of a factory over just one year of production. 90000 vehicles at $11000 (from your argument) is $990,000,000, the $1 Billion you were positing. Same with capex spent...

Problem charging with J1772 charger and Lucid adapter

The earlier video that @Saksak posted: Tom talks about why a dual mode NACS to CCS1 is a bad thing starting about 6:15.

Problem charging with J1772 charger and Lucid adapter

Tom explains why that is a bad idea. At the end of the video above he shows an adapter exactly like that and the safety issues with it. I also suspect using that LeTough adapter on the Ford EVSE could damage the car or the charger as it would tie the AC power output pins to the DC power input pins.

Problem charging with J1772 charger and Lucid adapter

I have to backtrack just a bit here...there do exist such beasts: Ford and GM both make them for bidirectional charging. The DC pins are used for powering the house from the car's battery. These are not, however, on the public charging networks. See this video for more details...but you still...

Problem charging with J1772 charger and Lucid adapter

Please note: there are no charging stations that have CCS1 and output AC. More correctly, CCS1 uses the communication pins of the J1772 connector and adds two heavy duty pins for high voltage, high current DC power. The AC power pins of the J1772 are not used at all. Using a J1772 to NACS...

    Gravity stinks

Tesla named biohazard mode quirkily, but it works very well. I drove from WA to San Jose during the Carr fire. Visibility was often reduced, but there was no smoke smell in the cabin and my partner's allergies did complain. But it's not just filtration. They also run the fans fast enough to...

    Software leadership team fired

My understanding is the electronic components in the Inverter have what is referred to as a bathtub failure curve (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bathtub_curve). They do burn in tests in manufacturing to try and weed out the majority of infant mortality cases. But some small number will slip...

Custom Power Limits for AC Charging

I don't know the cause of your delay, but I doubt it's due to the car being on its default settings. Power negotiation doesn't take long.

My Lucid Gravity's fob died again 2 weeks after last time (with a fresh battery and 3.3.9 firmware)

That article has a quote from Winterhoff that makes a point a lot of people don't recognize: "It's sometimes embarrassing. We have such a fantastic car, by the way," he said. "Under the hood, in order to make that car perform like it performs, **is tons of software that all works** [emphasis...

    Gravity 3.3.22

Are you charging to 100%? Any time the battery is at or near 100%, regenerative braking will be reduced since there's no battery capacity to take the energy. As you drive and use energy, the Regen braking begins working with less restrictions, and finally operating normally. Regen can also be...
