Yay, Tesla charging … July 31!

Yup! When I was at a Tesla SC the other day, an Audi was taking up 2-3 spots trying to figure out how to charge. A disgruntled Tesla owner walked by and shouted, ‘No consideration for other drivers, none!’

    Confusion with Tesla charging

    Interesting thought. Could be.

    Confusion with Tesla charging

Yup, but for whatever reason it didn’t work. It was a different Tesla location than today, but I tried 2 different stalls. 😳

    Confusion with Tesla charging

I spoke with Lucid tech support and sent them a screenshot of my Lucid app (latest version) showing PnC was not activated. He’s supposed to get back to me.

    Confusion with Tesla charging

Problem solved! I sent an email to Lectron explaining my issue and they were very prompt replying (within 1 hour) with the correct procedure. Apparently I was not doing it correctly and I suspect some others here weren't either (OE). The correct procedure per Lectron, that worked immediately...

    Confusion with Tesla charging

Yup, that’s what I did, started the Tesla app, chose the stall # and plugged in…to no avail.

    Confusion with Tesla charging

That’s exactly what I did. I selected a Tesla stall via the app and then plugged in. In a short time I got a prompt within the car, ‘Additional step required’. That additional step never materialized within the Lucid app. So Lucid didn’t allow the Tesla app to complete the procedure as required...

    Confusion with Tesla charging

Unfortunately I never saw a Tesla charger stall # within the Lucid app. That was the bulk of the issue. Then Lucid wouldn’t allow the Tesla app to complete the transaction as it kept insisting another step was necessary and that step (specifying a Tesla stall #) never showed up in the app. As...

    Confusion with Tesla charging

So color me confused, very confused. I went to a Tesla SC with a Lectron adapter. Following the directions and selecting the appropriate charger # from the Tesla app, I kept getting a Lucid prompt that an additional step was required. However I saw nothing in the Lucid app to select that would...

You’re lucky, you got the best color offered. Don’t believe anyone who tells you differently! 🤣

    2.8.0 Software Update

If you value hands-free driving, as most who ordered this feature do, it’s a great update. If you don’t then there’s not much to get excited about.

    2.8.0 Feedback Only!

Tried the update briefly on the LIE. I stayed in the right lane to get the feel of it and it behaved fine with one caveat that I don’t believe was the system’s fault. The area I was in is under repair at night and the right lane markings were intermittent. So although I never got a disconnect or...

Air at Tesla Supercharger with 3rd Party Adapter

As best as I can tell, the Lectron adapter is the same as the Lucid. Same specs, same packaging, same appearance with the exception of the branding. The Lectron is quite heavy and well built, again apparently like the Lucid version. I’d be surprised if Lectron or its supplier doesn’t make the...

Yay, Tesla charging … July 31!

Actually the packaging for the Lectron seems identical to the Lucid. Nicely sandwiched between 2 soft fitted foam enclosures. Again, I’d be shocked if there was any significant difference between the Lucid & the Lectron other than the branding.

Yay, Tesla charging … July 31!

Yup, but if you look at the link below you'll see the unit I got is clearly a 500A, 1000V unit. :) https://ev-lectron.com/products/lectron-nacs-to-ccs-adapter-with-interlock-vortex-plus-500a-1-000v-compatible-with-tesla-superchargers Here's a review done by Electrek. Thus far I've heard nothing...

Yay, Tesla charging … July 31!

It sounds just like the Lectron unit I received a few days ago. I’d be shocked if the Lucid adapter isn’t a rebranded Lectron.

Lease Ending - Buy or Upgrade to 2025?

Or, as we’ve seen with so many different issues with Lucids, some cars might actually have different response speeds with the same chip. As an example, my doors open immediately when I’m within 10’ of the car over 90% of the time. On rare instances I might have to wait until I’ve actually...
