R2 envy? When will Lucid start to hype its mid size?

If the midsize Lucid turns out to be more a car than a small SUV or crossover, I’d slot in the Audi A6 & S6 e-tron as competition too.

    Raging BUY at $2.26?

But they will be competitive on brand recognition, fit & finish, servicing, parts availability, sales outlets & probably resale value. That may be all they need.

R2 envy? When will Lucid start to hype its mid size?

In the new midsize space, I like the 27 Audi A6 e-Tron. Nearly 400 miles of range, good reviews and some meaningful updates in the 2nd year of this run.

    Lucid Network no longer Authenticating

This was a few days prior to the update over the weekend.

    Lucid Network no longer Authenticating

Yes, EA authentication issue, but I was able to change using the Lucid app and selecting the stall number.

US carmakers should be terrified, including Lucid

In terms of Lucid’s growth, I will never understand why Lucid does so little advertising. I can’t begin to tell you how many people have asked me why Lucid insists on keeping their products secret. Aside from some meager advertising, I totally agree with their sentiments. All this alleged...

    V2H Coming Soon

And what could be more important than that in the event of an outage! ;)

    Daily Charge

A couple of points though: Most L2 chargers scheduled charging capabilities do not work with the Lucid. I can use it on my i5, but it’s useless on my Lucid Air. I instead must use the car’s scheduling and turn off my Home Flex charger’s scheduling. I don’t think it’s a good practice to...

Curious, anyone else with a problem free Air?

23 Air with no issues now that I no longer seem to have occasional compromised internet connections. Yes, I carry a very lightweight, small fob. Big f’ing deal. It works flawlessly. Full stop.

    Engineering Explained - Lucid Responded

I know it’s off topic, but I’ve noticed lately that I’m not getting the ‘no or slow internet’. As a result I’m no longer losing SXM. I’m not sure if that was the result of one of the recent updates, but it eliminates the only ongoing issue that bugged me.

    Engineering Explained - Lucid Responded

Yes, that is absolutely reasonable. The situation I suggested was simply something that could occur.

    Engineering Explained - Lucid Responded

I never said the hardware update price was unreasonable. I never said that software driven cars never ‘needed’ hardware updates. Our definition of ‘need’ may be different. I did say that I didn’t need it at this time. IF I still own the car by the time the new UX is released and IF I think the...

    Engineering Explained - Lucid Responded

Sure you can go to a SC as long as it too is not impacted by the power outage. If it is then you’ll need to travel to a SC where the outage hasn’t impacted the area. In a fairly widespread outage, finding a SC might not be so easy and when/if you do, wait times might be considerable. I’m not...

    Engineering Explained - Lucid Responded

A few thoughts: * It’s disappointing to me that these plans were only publicized as the result of his largely negative review. Lucid should have made owners aware of this roadmap regardless, not as the result of feeling compelled to address an almost viral negative review. * Similarly the need...

so what's next generally for Air s/w update?

Is that something that Lucid has confirmed? I’ve heard that as conjecture here, but I’ve never heard anyone at Lucid say a hardware upgrade was essential for 3.0.

    V2H Coming Soon

Absolutely, IF that DCFC station is not also impacted by the power outage. ;)

    V2H Coming Soon

If that was directed at me, you misunderstood my meaning. I am fully onboard with V2H, but my statement was simply a factual comment that if you were low on charge and that occurred concurrent with a power outage, the V2H would have limited usefulness. Obviously a decent charge would yield far...

    V2H Coming Soon

If a power outage occurs without warning, you have to be lucky to have a nearly full charge. Most of us only charge to 80% on a regular basis.

    scheduled time to charge

Yes, that's the case. It's just a quirk that you have to adjust to if you're doing scheduled charging. For me it's even more confusing since with my wife's BMW i5 I don't use its scheduled charging, but rather the scheduled charging of my Charge Point HomeFlex. If I'm charging my Air, I have to...
