    Is Lucid styling the problem?

The Macan EV, configured the way I would want it, is the same price as a Gravity. The Lyriq V is cheap. The Cayenne EV is stupidly expensive.

    Is Lucid styling the problem?

That is true for everyone, and I will make my final decision on what the cars do or are likely to get soon at the time of my decision, weighted by how important those features are. For example, Porsche is supposed to get PaaK by the end of the year. Similarly, Lucid's hands-free ADAS and PaaK...

    Is Lucid styling the problem?

Yup. Mercedes uses the Burmester brand liberally, from "ordinary" mid-tier systems to the mega ultra premium class like Bowers & Wilkins and AKG Studio Reference. (FYI, AKG Studio is crap.) By contrast, Porsche uses Burmester for their ultra premium systems and Bose for mid-tier. I am casting a...

    Is Lucid styling the problem?

My main point is that for $4K, SSP should be a crapton better. It is about the same as a BMW mid-tier Harman Kardon. And for hands-free ADAS, these are the luxury players there: Acura, BMW, Cadillac, Infiniti, Lexus, and Lincoln. Luxury automakers with PaaK: Audi, BMW, Genesis, Mercedes-Benz...

    Is Lucid styling the problem?

As a potential shopper, I think the styling is fine. It is not special, and to me resembles the Mercedes-Benz R-Class from the early twenty-teens. The current state in the luxury BEV SUV marketplace is a lot of weird and ugly, so the Gravity wins by its conservative default. (Actually, I think...

key fob problems with a poll

Kind of a related question... what is the expected life of a fob battery?

    The Long Goodbye

Well... The number of people posting here with Gravity fob issues is greater than all the other forums I follow combined (Lyriq, iX, Polestar 3, and Rivian). I do not know if it is 1%, 5%, 10%, or whatever. But I do know that many people are dealing with this. And it is a far greater risk than I...

    The Long Goodbye

What part do you disagree with? There are multiple independent threads with fob issues. And, when someone is struck, there does not appear to be a common cure. Some folks reported improvement with a new fob. Others did not. Others suspect software. Some suspect hardware inside the car. Even the...

    The Long Goodbye

This is a massive contrast to GM and Cadillac. I was on the Lucid wait list for around a year before I gave up and went a different direction. In the first coupe years of the Lyriq's life, it was a massive dumpster fire, with many software and hardware issues, including 12V failures that were...

    The Long Goodbye

I do not think it was merely a slick marketing call. And I do think it was a masterclass in direct marketing. For this to happen, many things had to fall in place that are not normal... He had to know you and your influence He had to know that this was an important time to make a call He had to...

    The Long Goodbye

I know the Gravity is great at 99% of the things that it is. But that 1% is a deal killer for me. There is some material percentage that I would get a car with the fob issue, and if I had it, it would likely be incurable for now. Given that the basic dependability of the car's core function is...

    The Long Goodbye

The problem is that we really don’t have a clue what the percentage is. But I can tell you that there is nothing that remotely compares to this in any of the other forums I follow. (Oh, and the HUD, which is also an important feature to me, seems plagued with issues.) 60% of the time, it works...

    The Long Goodbye

Yes, it is the collective experience. It seems like the fob issue is a material percentage of owners, and if stuck, it seems like there may be no cure yet.

    The Long Goodbye

I only joined the forum about 3 weeks ago to begin my Gravity research for my next car. And I had already decided to pass. This thread pretty much sums up my decision path in reading through many other threads in this forum... My test drive gave a great impression. I liked everything about the...

Gravity HUD Position and Clarity Questions

Heck, Polestar is already doing this on the Polestar 4 - no rear window.

Gravity HUD Position and Clarity Questions

If I were going to hazard a guess... it is the AR-capable intentional design to use a larger area of the windshield. GM is moving in that direction too, and they project up much higher. But, I suspect that the AR content is only impacting the higher areas for specific purposes and shorter-term...

Gravity HUD Position and Clarity Questions

The funny thing about my experience is that I asked about HUD and wanted to see it. The sales rep took me to an inventory car with HUD, but he was fumbling with the app saying "it is not configured," so I could see some graphic elements, but really not an effective show. TBH, they probably know...

Gravity HUD Position and Clarity Questions

This was my case as well. The test vehicles did not have HUD. Probably not an accident.

    Gravity DE Arbitration Victory

I’m here for a similar cause. I have to get a new car at the end of the year, so I am here to figure out what the common issues are, how prevalent they are, and if they would impact my enjoyment of the car.

    Possible new Gravity owner

I noticed the same in my test drive last week. We were in traffic, and I noticed that I was looking up at a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Gravity is shorter (less tall) than many other SUVs in its size class.
