Reflections on the Air's design after three years of ownership

Just a brief observation on the design of the Air: Upon approaching my Cosmos Silver car yesterday it struck me that its design is still fresh and conveys its dynamic capabilities quite well. Its body shape and contours have aged very well from all aspects IMO. Further, I believe that it is very...

Switching from S-Class to Lucid Air…

The 19's deliver a more compliant ride and I believe are more efficient if you plan to do cross country trips than either the 20 or 21s. Also, the 19's can be fitted with winter compound tires, although I have not checked lately on the availability of compliant winter compound tires for the 20s...

    Air 2.8.4 software update

If you do not trust Lucid why do you own one? The company has demonstrated consistent efforts to improve our vehicles with OTAs and service efforts.

After over a year of ownership, I still don't understand the entry/approach software of this car

OK, so my two cents: I am sorry for the unacceptable experiences for apparently many Air owners. The door locks are not perfect and require some patience, but I do not let such annoyances spoil my use and enjoyment of my AGT. Like many here I have owned flawless or nearly flawless vehicles like...

    Air 2.8.4 software update

I have not noticed voice call distortion but my CarPlay SiriusXM transmission from Bloomberg and other news stations had intermittent (audio) interruptions every few seconds. Maybe a Sirius problem on news but not on their music stations. The OTA installed in well under 45 minutes.

A Bit of Perspective From a Long-ish Term Owner

Owner since Oct. 2022 with 40k miles and several cross country drives and despite the challenges we confronted the AirGT has been by far the best automobile that I have owned. Service has been responsive and effective. The OTAs and recent CCC upgrade have vastly improved the overall experience...

    No mention of Lucid?

One wonders why a CEO would undermine his credibility with such a statement, except of course that he does not want anyone to know about Lucid, which remains undiscovered by many. Denial is not a good long term strategy.

Timothée Chalamet and Director James Mangold bring Lucid Gravity to life in Lucid’s new global brand campaign, Driven

Good trick to get a motorcycle in the back of a Gravity. Of course, there is zero chance of fuel spillage from the bike an it is completely secure. Fanciful stuff.

Timothée Chalamet and Director James Mangold bring Lucid Gravity to life in Lucid’s new global brand campaign, Driven

Edgy and fun but what is the message? Performance and range I guess.

The one thing you'd like most right now (for your Lucid vehicle)

Right. What is wrong with the wireless charging pad? One would think that it would work much better. The cup holders are not a problem for me.

When that happens swipe up on the pilot panel to restore the normal screen. That has worked for me.

    Lucid support in decline?

I am nearly three years in and have received excellent responsiveness and support from Lucid service. Quality control in assembly created a few reasons for service to have to make panel and trim adjustments, but the attributes of the Air far outweigh the problems of what is an amazing vehicle.

    2.8.0 Software Update

I lowered it so that it blocked my view of the top of the cockpit panel but still got the keep the hands on the wheel message after a few moments on DA on a well marked highway. The hands free drive assist option is selected in my DD settings.

    2.8.0 Software Update

I just tried it and held the button longer but it just displays Drive Assist, not Hands Free Drive Assist. All settings on Dream Drive are turned on.

    2.8.0 Software Update

I have the CCC upgrade and 2.8.0. My DA worked very well in a recent 1400 mile RT before the 2.8.0 OTA. Perhaps I should have made settings changes but DA still gives me the warning to keep my hands on the steering wheel after a few moments of its activation, just as it did before 2.8.0.

Yay Hardware upgrade CPU and memory

I called my SC and spoke with the tech who offered to perform the service a day or two later. Also, I did not reset the drive setting to hold after the necessary reprogramming of the system, so my comment on the slow stop with high regen was wrong. The upgrade is flawless as far as I can tell.

Lucid Air's Number One Software Issue?

Aside from some annoying glitches in two and a half years with my AGT that resolved, I have no software issues. The car is a delight in every respect. My perspective is tolerance since it is a new vehicle so had I expected perfection with the software I would have been disappointed. For further...

Yay Hardware upgrade CPU and memory

Mobile service installed my CCC and attended to some minor adjustments in under three hours yesterday. I immediately noticed faster response time of the accelerator and less front motor whine, but maybe it was just my imagination. Screen response was noticeably faster. I also noticed and this is...

Yay Hardware upgrade CPU and memory

I trust Lucid to serve my best interests. The fact that we have received multiple OTAs that have successively improved various functions, sometimes materially, is unique in the industry. The new CCC will improve processing time and that is enough for me, as I expect future OTAs and want to enjoy...
