Not exactly what I was thinking of.

    Air Version 2.9.0

Well, you got me. I have to agree. So we’ll just have to come up with another term. How about RINOP: Rendered Inoperable. My car was RINOPed. Or to avoid being confused with the political term, LINOP: Left Inoperable. This leaves it open to the possibility that a new OTA might fix it, but...

    Air Version 2.9.0

From the wiki article: “A brick or bricked device is an electronic device… that is no longer functional. It could be due to corrupted firmware, failed operating system, a hardware problem, or other damage. The term is an analogy to a construction brick and its lack of modern technological...

    Air Version 2.9.0

I’ve been all over the Internet, trying to find a common definition for brick in the sense we’re talking about. The consensus of all definitions is that the device is rendered completely inoperable. Not just slowed down or not working well. Not working at all. For an automobile that would mean...

I think that you and I might be the only people in the United States who like station wagons.

    Air Version 2.9.0

Confirms my observation and opinion that the whole thing is on pause. I don’t have it yet. I’m giving them a chance to get it right. Ironically, my car is in the shop right now and the loaner that I have has 2.9.0 and it seems fine. But according to some posts above, it’s not fine for everybody...

    Air Version 2.9.0

The ultimate would be “Warranty void if the car is driven.” Joke.

    Air Version 2.9.0

I agree. If I want to go somewhere and the car won’t let me because it is incapable of moving, then its value as an automobile has been reduced to the value of a brick. It is very clearly stated and completely understood that the car is inoperable while it is being updated. Just as the phone is...

    Air Version 2.9.0

I put the word announced in quotes because I couldn’t think of a better word. It would’ve been better if I had said that when the update appears the specific car’s pilot panel as being available, that’s when I think the clock would start. But I also agreed at 30 days is legalese.

    Air Version 2.9.0

This is the best, most realistic summary office situation that I’ve read on this particular forum. Lucid tracker hasn’t shown any 2.9.2 updates in about a week. That tells me it must be on pause. When they get it all figured out, I think it would reduce confusion if they were to number it 2.9.3.

Similar issue on my VW GTI. Talk to Apple.

    Air Version 2.9.0

There seems to be a significant amount of inconsistency. Some people seem to be absolutely fine. Others not so much. One thing for sure, 2.9.2 has bricked some RWD Pures.

    Air Version 2.9.0

The way I see it, it’s when the car “announces” that the software is available for that specific car. Announcement and installation probably become part of the car’s software log. My ‘26 Air Pure has not shown 2.9.2 to be available yet — and I think that’s because it seems to be on pause...

    Air Version 2.9.0

It’s gotta be someplace in the warranty. I’ll give it a thorough read over. If it isn’t written by someone who had the authority to write it, it isn’t true. Edit. OK. I read the warranty. That’s true. Page 9 - 10 of the warranty: “What Will Cause the Warranty to Be Voided? “The Lucid New...

    Air Version 2.9.0

Is there some Lucid document that says that?

    Air Version 2.9.0

A post on the 2.9.2 thread said that it is paused. It seems like it is. And I think that is to everyone’s benefit. I think the folks in Newark are getting out some triple strength insecticide. Remember the old advertising slogan, “Black Flag kills bugs dead!“

It has an Air screen and steering wheel. AI. And I’m sure they wouldn’t let a dog sit in the car in the showroom. Nice looking dog, however.

Air Version 2.9.2 - Pure RWD only

Personally, I have no trouble waiting. I’d much prefer they take the time to get it right.

Air Version 2.9.2 - Pure RWD only

Lucid tracker shows 2.9.2 not being distributed for several days. That makes me believe it’s on pause, which seems to me to be a good idea, based on reports of trouble with it, such as the reports above.
