I have DE #40 and it has been to service or service has come to me a few times, nothing that kept me from driving.
The Sapphire has had no issues with 3897 miles.
Also, the processor is updated and that helps with the software in general. For instance using my iPhone as a key is much faster...
All cars have failures. Any metropolitan area it would be more rare to do a commute and not see any cars broken down along the highway than to see cars on the side of the highway.
With the Lucid, Phoenix to Las Vegas is an easy trip. 300 miles no stop required.
I have not had any problems...
Congratulations. The Lucid Air is a great car in any trim. The Sapphire just make it even better. Daily driving mine. Happily there are very few days below freezing here in SC. Tires performed better than expected in the mid/upper 30s.
A regenerative braking limited warning would be nice to have. I would also like a subtle indicator that shows when the brake lights are illuminated from regen. A pixel or 2 red line below the indicated speed. I only charge to 100% when I think it will be needed on road trips, so probably...
The Denton to Amarillo leg is lean on chargers, everywhere else you should be good. I take the time to go to 100% for that leg. Don't be afraid to try and charge at dealerships. It can be hit or miss, but I've found most to be friendly and interested in the Lucid. I like to stay between...
I think in that range test the BMW was an e40 with the smallest tires and was limited to 75mph. Plenty of people on this site getting EPA from Lucid in those conditions.
I agree the EPA test needs to be improved so comparisons are fair.
BMW always goes conservative on horsepower and 0-60 in...
The Pure AWD is 76k the i5M60 is 84K 3.8 vs 3.7 to 60 and EPA range is 410 vs 256. That is not close. The BMW has only 62% of the range of the Lucid. Not to mention the BMW is 4" longer but has less space.
You can easily option the BMW to 100k then you can compare to the GT 0-60 of 3.0 and 500...
I continue to feel the Air is the best EV available. Hopefully the Gravity and the advertising campaign around it will bring more awareness to the brand. I'm a BMW fan, but they have a ways to go. Range, performance, space, it is not even close.
It would make sense to me if the car and adapter was the control point. Ford supplies for Ford, we would buy an adapter from Lucid that handshakes with the car. It is a lot of power to run through a cheap knock off.
Not allowing adapters other than those supplied by the manufacturer would require additional electronic in the adapter and an addition check/handshake. This seems to add complexity to what otherwise could be a piece of plastic and copper. I'm interested to see a tear down of the Ford adapter.
I'm with you. I'm buying enough to make it interesting, but not enough to worry about it every time I get in the car. As a bit of irony I'm using profits from a TSLA trade.
I bought a C8 70th anniversary Z06 and it was dropped off Sunday. With the current MPG I am getting I have a range of about 146 miles on a full tank. 😂
I do not own any LCID, but this is looking like a good entry point.
Lucid tech is better than Rivian.
The Gravity looks awesome, but I would rather see a Model Y competitor. The Porsche Macan looks like a very good product. I expect it to do well.
I own the Lucid Air because I like sedans...
