A very frustrated 2026 Lucid Gravity owner journey

Yep. That's the way I described it in another thread... Lucid is not a nationwide brand, it's a "within range of a service center" brand. I wouldn't want to be hundreds of miles from the nearest Lucid service center. Even though they pick up and drop off the vehicle for you, that takes time out...

A very frustrated 2026 Lucid Gravity owner journey

It's painful reading this. So sorry to hear. We spend a fortune for these vehicles, expecting them be the best vehicle we've ever owned, only for it to me a nightmare. We know Lucid is a fledgling automaker living on the edge, so we expect some growing pains and know we have to give them a...

    OTA 3.6.4

Thanks. I did get a notification via the app that said the liftgate was open. But it was at the time that I thought he was out there so I assumed it was him. Didn't dawn on me until later that of course it wasn't just normal liftgate opening, otherwise I'd get that message every time. I...

    OTA 3.6.4

Our liftgate hatch has been working pretty well, other that having a loud click when it unlatches. Almost sounds like the latch is catching on that metal plate. But we did have an incident a few weeks ago on a road trip where it stayed open after my partner went out to the hotel parking lot to...

    Phantom Braking in Reverse

I didn't think to make sure my driver profile was loading too. Sometimes it doesn't, which could mean it was in the guest profile and that setting many not be off there. I don't think that was the case though, as a couple of other things are different too when that happens, like the seats...

    Phantom Braking in Reverse

I can't imagine parking much slower than I do now when backing in. I creep in pretty slowly. I use CREEP instead of HOLD though. Wonder if that might make a difference?

    Phantom Braking in Reverse

I just looked again. I do have REAR PARKING PROTECTION turned off. Either it's ignoring that setting now, or maybe it's REAR PEDESTRIAN COLLISION PROTECTION going off? That's the one that can't be turned off permanently.

    OTA 3.6.4

I think that's REAR PARKING PROTECTION. I do keep that turned off. The one that I assume is going off is REAR PEDESTRIAN COLLISION PROTECTION, but I could be wrong. Maybe it is the first one but off isn't really turning it off? Next time it happens I need to look more closely at the screen to...

    OTA 3.6.4

This seems to have gotten much worse after 3.6.4: phantom braking in reverse when backing into a charging stall. Nearly every time I'm backing into a charging stall this trip, the car goes a few feet and slams on the brakes because it thinks there's as object in the way when there's not...

    Lane Change Flashes too short?

Agree, it's too short. Plus, the blind spot camera only stays on during the 3 blinks then shuts off immediately. I've barely started to move over by then. Wish the camera would stay on maybe 3 seconds after the blinker ends. (Oops, I just noticed this was for Air. I'm talking Gravity, but...

    Phantom Braking in Reverse

You have to turn that off manually each time, right? Wish I could turn it off permanently. I get the reason why they don't allow that. And if it worked well that might be ok. Backing out of a driveway across a sidewalk makes sense. But we have to back this thing into charging station stalls...

    Phantom Braking in Reverse

Lately it seems like every time I back into a charging spot, the car thinks there's an obstruction in the way (when there isn't) and slams on the brakes. Really annoying. And I can't find a way to turn it off permanently. I assume it's the rear pedestrian auto-brake, which turns back on every...

Will marketing finally make a turn? Ex Hyundai executive hired by Napoli

While true that 450 is not realistic (even for city driving), that's often true for most other EVs too. As such, I'd have no problem with them advertising it when others get to advertise their usually inflated EPA range too. Plus there's always the "up to" qualifier that's commonly used in...

Detroit to Hilton Head Island: The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly (plus the weird and the wacky)

Shouldn't have much impact. A typical fridge like that usually doesn't use more than 60w, and only part time. That's not even 1 kWh/day.

Will marketing finally make a turn? Ex Hyundai executive hired by Napoli

They probably could use an "Our software has gotten a lot better than the mess it was 9 months ago!" campaign. That's usually the first question I get asked when posting about Lucid on social media, and the current reputation they've gotten from the Gravity launch that's still dragging them...

Will marketing finally make a turn? Ex Hyundai executive hired by Napoli

Yes, but there's a big gap between mass marketing and targeted marketing for a relatively small market. The big Super Bowl ad she spearheaded, for instance, would be overkill for Lucid. I'm sure she's capable of other types of marketing, of course, but Lucid needs way more volume and the...

Will marketing finally make a turn? Ex Hyundai executive hired by Napoli

That's good and fine but you have to have something to mass market first. The Air and Gravity aren't exactly mass market vehicles at these luxury price points. And their production capacity, sales capacity, and especially service capacity are still pretty small. And the more affordable...

Mine is doing it too. Just from the car's native Spotify app tho. Works fine through Android Auto.

    Gravity Bugs / Issues

That's why I asked for someone who's more familiar with Tesla Destination chargers to chime in. I know it's often the case at hotels that have Tesla Destination chargers, but I don't know if it's the same for Tesla Wall chargers for home. They look like the same hardware but maybe they're...

    Gravity Bugs / Issues

Here's a pic I took of a Tesla wall charger that DOES work. The ones that don't work just have an empty holster hole instead. I had to look for the difference on a recent trip. The Peppermill Hotel Casino in Reno has 6 of the old ones and 4 of the new ones, and I figured out I had to stick to...
