    Layman perception

I think the threshold of market penetration where everyone is well aware of EVs is actually pretty low. I'm pretty sure that if 7-8% of the cars on the road were EVs, then almost all buyers would be well aware that they're an option, and they'd be likely to know someone who drives one. In...

traded in my air... and got a polestar 3

There are a lot of used Airs with very low mileage on the Lucid inventory site, and the prices are much much lower. If I were in the market for a sedan, I'd jump on one of them. Alas, I'm looking for a Gravity, and it will be a while before they start appearing on the used car market in any...

    Q2 Earnings Call

Although Lucid has made big improvements to the Gravity, the media (including "influencers") tend to focus their attention on the new thing. As a result, initial coverage of the Gravity is scathing about the problems, and there isn't enough new press talking about how much better the vehicle...

Is full self driving being developed for Gravity?

Autonomous driving is genuinely extremely expensive for car companies to develop, and so it's entirely understandable that they're going to charge for it. The problem is that they're also trying to accustom consumers to paying monthly fees for their vehicle, regardless of whether the feature in...

New high performance gravity being revealed this month.Plus the cosmos info

True. But that's no different from the Air, and it didn't stop them from dialing it up for the Sapphire.

    Locked out of Lucid Gravity

I trust my Toyota Highlander to never automatically lock the door, with the one exception being that the doors lock when I drive off. And even that I find annoying. Maybe it has a mode for autolock, but I don't know about it, and have not enabled it. The car locks only when the lock button is...

New high performance gravity being revealed this month.Plus the cosmos info

I'm not so sure. Lucid has described the Sapphire brand as performance focused. And while obviously that can include a track car, I think performance covers much more than just lap time on a race track. I'm betting on a Sapphire Gravity being announced, but I think it's possible for that...

    Q2 Earnings Call

As I understand it, while the spec sheet height for the R1S is a lot taller than the Gravity, the actually height of the body is only about 4" more for the R1S. The rest of the the height difference is just the suspension setup and how high off the ground the vehicle rides. It'd be interesting...

    Q2 Earnings Call

I feel like they talked about it in terms of unveiling a completely new Gravity variant, which to me rules out just announcing that they'll keep producing dream editions.

    Q2 Earnings Call

A Sapphire Air doesn't meet my cargo hauling needs. But a Sapphire Gravity? I probably won't cough up for what's likely to be twice the cost of a GGT. But I'll be looking at my brokerage statement and be tempted!

    Q2 Earnings Call

I think it's premature to suggest Lucid is in a death spiral. BMW is selling a lot of iX3s, it's true. But they have the advantage of more than just a well known brand and a lot of dealers: it's also a cheaper vehicle. Cosmos is Lucid’s opportunity to grow their volume much more than Air and...

    Q2 Earnings Call

Lucid still has their Sapphire page up saying "Lucid Air Sapphire is just the beginning, representing the launch of an entirely new performance-focused brand within Lucid, one which ushers in a new era of performance for the electric vehicle market. Additional Sapphire models will be available...

    Q2 Earnings Call

Weren't we already at that point before anything said today? My impression was that they'd previously said they may start the production line before the end of the year, but they wouldn't be delivering any vehicles to customers until 2027.

I'm not an accountant. But I do know that the accountants at various companies I've been at have played a lot of games around what goes into COGS, and it is definitely not just a simple measure of material costs and manufacturing labor. I'm an engineer, and at some companies my labor has been...

Share Your Feedback - Enhanced Rear Cabin Comfort

I wonder what the efficiency loss is from conditioning the entire cabin versus just the 1st row, or just the 1st and 2nd. Obviously if you only run the 1st row HVAC, the temperature gradient back to the third row results in there being a different temperature there. But over long periods of...

Lots of Gravity inventory in Miami World Center garage.

My opinion is that the brutal reviews of the poor software quality have held back sales. While the software quality has improved, we have a dearth of new reviews cheering Lucid's progress on that front. I'm not a marketing person, but I think the marketing team at Lucid needs to figure out a...

Lots of Gravity inventory in Miami World Center garage.

Having no need of a roof mounted cargo box is a big part of the Gravity's appeal for me. I've always found them inconvenient to access, even if they store enough stuff to meet my needs. And with an EV, I'm happy to eliminate any potential range hit from the increased drag they create.

Lots of Gravity inventory in Miami World Center garage.

A '27 GGT with a price of $116800 had an estimated lease of $1769/month in July, and today the inventory says a lease price of $1502/month. That's more in line with the lease terms they were offering on 2026 GGTs before they started trying to clear out that year's inventory. Still, I expect...

Share Your Feedback - Enhanced Rear Cabin Comfort

Eliminating airflow capabilities to the 3rd row area for 5 seat vehicles is a huge disappointment. I hope Lucid reconsiders that in the future. The 2 row Gravity loses a lot of practicality for those wanting to transport pets.
