This might shed light on why automakers don’t go “all in” with CarPlay / Android Auto

In addition to no UX data access, doesn't that mean while CP/AA is used, there is no or limited data for the carmaker to use for improving the routing accuracy of their native app? Also no data to improve routing/charging integration? Basically limited data to improve native apps. Thereby...

    Gravity 3.5.1

I can hear the nav voice saying "Recalcula ... . Oh nevermind. He's not even listening!"

Old AF also means even though your car has 50,000 cameras, my head is on a swivel until they earn must trust. Now that also depends on the last time you bought a new or "new to you" car. I love Drive Assist, but Lane Change Assist and I continue to work on our trust relationship.

    Gravity 3.5.1

Good ole paper maps. A time when people actually knew what to do and had an idea of where to go if they took a wrong turn. And the word "recalculating" didn't give away the fact that you were lost. 😀

This might shed light on why automakers don’t go “all in” with CarPlay / Android Auto

Data monetization was mentioned, but the intent of product development and improvement was pretty clear. Even for those (hello GM) who initially sought monetary gain.

This might shed light on why automakers don’t go “all in” with CarPlay / Android Auto

I recall reading that article last year. It makes sense to me. I'm not the type of customer that says "just give me what I want". Especially when I understand the reasons (data access for product improvement, in-house product development). Sometimes customers think they know what they want, but...

    Gravity 3.5.1

Looks like whenever Gemini comes to our version of Android Auto it may provide the functionality that some owners have missed since Alexa was removed. I especially like items #4 and #5. I suppose this explains the AI enhancement coming to the Lucid Assistant even more...

A paid subscription? If so, I would think it should be working for you.

    Gravity 3.5.1

Not a big deal. Until I find the solution, I'll just start Gemini on my phone and do the chat via Bluetooth audio.

    Gravity 3.5.1

Yep. It says that in the update notes or somewhere. Been doing that, but Gemini is not responding. The traditional GA is responding.

I get a message about chatting live is only available for users opted into Gemini for home and for certain subscription plans".

My car is able to make the distinction between the two assistants. However, the Google Assistant is the basic one, not Gemini. Were you able to start a continous chat or have to say "Hey Google" for each question?

New software update for Gravity - 3.5

Shhhh! Do not! I repeat! Do not wake the sleepy Eyores!

    Gravity 3.5.1

Has anyone been able to get Gemini to work as the digital assistant within Android Auto (AA) instead of the traditional digital assistant which doesn't chat? I have Gemini set as the default digital assistant on my phone, but it's not carrying over to AA. Gemini suggested I disconnect from the...

[RESOLVED] 2nd row seats jammed AGAIN

I haven't had that issue, but my concern with damage to those panels from passengers is the reason I attached carpeting to the floor mats, to cover them. The type of damage that could result in what you've experienced. I add the carpet to the second row since there is more space there for people...

New software update for Gravity - 3.5

Not sure it's a bug, especially if a reset fixed it. Perhaps more like a glitch, IMO. My parking cameras were not working. Did a reset and they've been working ever since. Should have done a reset after the update anyway, like with past updates.

    Gravity 3.5.1

Love the update. Still trying stuff. The native nav app has always worked well for me, but tried Google Maps (GM) and it worked fine. The absence of GM on the pilot screen makes it less likely I'll use it. Sometimes the view on the larger pilot screen is better than the smaller top right screen...
