Brake and taillight didn't work for a couple hours

I have no idea if this applies, but on my Tesla I suffered for a while from the "phantom rain" issue where the wipers would occasionally take a swipe. Lots of indignant owners online saying "it obviously is not raining". But it was the Tesla system attempting to clean the camera view under...

    Half-shaft bolt recall

Enterprise in San Jose provides all of the "loaners" for that Service Center. They maintain a fleet of 10 Airs and if they are all out, they try hard to get you into an EV given the sophistication of the Lucid customer base.

    Cosmos prototype

To me, were I in the market, is that is is not a Tesla. They continue to sell well but I am convinced the dynamic would shift if there was real competition, especially with superior engineering.

That red one is the best AI yet.

New to Lucid used owner Maybe?

Like you, I came from a Model Y (Performance) and find the Lucid engineering over-the-top. So far (and I am only into it for a few months) my used purchase has worked out well. Service is little slow meaning they will have your car for a while if you need them. The previous advice is...

TCU not being covered under warranty

This scenario applies to me, and worked out both ways. My car was 5 updates out-of-date, had a major warning on the dash (Defrost heater), sold at a luxury dealer (Lexus), in a more remote and red region (Modesto), and had the price lowered $13K in their urgency to sell a car they knew little...

    2026 Lucid Air Thoughts

I think your assessment is right on. It feels like being in a relationship with a beautiful woman. She may have some profound flaws but in the end it all comes out on the positive side; I will tolerate most of it for the rewards.

I'll gladly buy you a coffee cup for the knowledge the thread brought to the forum. And drama... 🤣

    Question about the dashcam functionality

It is about 4% of a 75kWh Tesla battery, which is 3kWh, not 5-6. Measured by my experience. Assume about 6 cameras monitoring (not the full Lucid suite).

    Question about the dashcam functionality

That was what my Model Y used. I guess to be a little more accurate and to translate to Lucid-world, it is (75kWh)(0.04)% or 3kWh/day assuming Lucid software engineers get about the same efficiency as Tesla people did.

Car locked with child inside and would not unlock

I am glad you would have given that a try, for sure. But if you think about it, you have door handles that are either flush or presented. It is not totally obvious that there is a third position where they deflect inward which I presume is for the sole purpose of waking up the car (this is...

Help me understand: Engineering Explained Hold issue

Awesome! I truly apologize for the time and thought, but I live to learn. I appreciate all helping to lay this to rest.

Car locked with child inside and would not unlock

As I was reading this exchange, I flashed on a visual which I really want to try: hammering impatiently on that door handle a la elevator button... Who knows, might work. 🤣

Car locked with child inside and would not unlock

There are a lot of very knowledgeable owners here and clearly you are one. But I am guessing some newer owners may not be aware the door handles have inward movement to perform a wakeup, which is all he was saying.

Help me understand: Engineering Explained Hold issue

First of all, thanks for using some of your holiday time to think about this. My car is in the shop so I cannot do the same. I am just pointing out what I interpret the manual as saying that when in Park, pressing and releasing the brake pedal will exit Hold mode. So if you then shift to...
