Long Beach to Scottsdale and Back (in an R1S)

Have you said this same thing 100 times yet? I lost count after 20.

    Phoenix to Yellowstone

In good weather, a GGT will make the 272 miles between Fruita and Beaver. Ionna is nice.

    Phoenix to Yellowstone

The trip computer said I was at 3.11 m/kWhr for the round trip. I think that the dynamic efficiency skews lower.

    Phoenix to Yellowstone

No reason and I did not intentional avoid Tesla chargers. I actually purchased a Tesla membership for the month to make them an option. EA, GM Energy and Ionna were all easy and would charge faster than Tesla chargers. At higher SOC, it would not make a difference. My next trip will include a...

    Phoenix to Yellowstone

Driving further to get to a low SOC works well on interstates with lots of charging options. The two lane highways in rural areas between Flagstaff and Beaver have only two chargers that Plugshare show are both unreliable. If your arrive at one of these two chargers at a very low SOC and it is...

    Phoenix to Yellowstone

Yellowstone to St George My notes for the trip home are not as detailed as the trip up. The weather on the trip home was ideal and navigation prediction for SOC on arrival were very accurate. Yellowstone to Scipio UT We left Old Faithful with 82% SOC and drove to Scipio UT for our first...

    Phoenix to Yellowstone

Yellowstone Don’t count on any charging within Yellowstone Park. There are level 2 chargers at the Old Faithful cabins, Plugshare correctly showed them as broken. The desk staff knew about them but were clueless about their condition. Plugshare suggests this is true for Yellowstone Lake lodge...

    Phoenix to Yellowstone

Below is a summary of our recent Gravity trip from Phoenix to Yellowstone to St George to Zion and back to Phoenix. I will do three posts, one for the drive to Yellowstone, one for getting around Yellowstone and one for the return trip to Phoenix. Drive to Yellowstone We decided to overnight...

    The Long Goodbye

Lucid would do well to follow their own timelines and commitments than to worry when the competition is releasing a car. Lucid may be behind schedule but it is not because Rivian or BMW released a car. The argument that Lucid is late because of Rivian R2 is like saying the Air was ten years late...

$100K Lucid Air – 3 Years Later, Still Waiting on Promises

You do not have to have your hands on the wheel when hands free drive assist is active. You do have to have your hands on the wheel when regular drive assist is active. The Air uses torque rather than a capacitive sensor to determine if your hands are on the wheel. I think you are confusing...

If not an Air, which EV would you buy?

This is only somewhat true. You can get more current into and out of a larger pack which can be a limitation to HP. As pack voltage decreases with lower SOC, the current draw will increase for the same HP. Hence, a larger pack can be helpful.

Efficiency meter and navigation SOC demystified

I have talked a bit with the navigation team and they are still working on adding weather information. Winds are probably most important. On my trip from Phoenix to Yellowstone, I had headwinds, rain and snow that made the predicted SOC at each stop optimistic by 5% to 8%. On the way home with...

Gravity HUD Position and Clarity Questions

I could not disagree more. I found the HUD to be very useful, important information displayed clearly without taking my eyes off the road. I really like the HUD. I know that others have a different experience but I suspect there are many more owners that have a good experience with the HUD.

    Roaring fan understood

This happened to me twice on my return trip from Yellostone to Phoenix. Like you the rear seats were folded down and rear HVAC came on randomly. The first time I did not figure it out because a lunch break fixed it. The second time, I looked an saw the rear AC on and shut it off and the roaring...

Lucid Q1 Financials and Forward Looking

I hate to say it but Marc was probably a better interim CEO than he was a COO. When you look at all of the internal systems that are messed up along with the lack of communication/coordination between production, sales and service and it paints a pretty poor picture of the COO.

Adding Dream Drive Pro After Purchase

This is not know yet. The CCV2 upgrade is infotainment only. The ADAS chips are separate from the infotainment module. It is not clear the CCV2 would be required.

Lucid Q1 Financials and Forward Looking

The PIF is a double edge sword. The financial backing is great and provides a stable path for Lucid. The management pieces like starting with a Sedan rather than SUV is not. Worse is the AMP-2 factory in Saudi Arabia. Lucid does not have the demand to fill AMP-1, no company Lucid's size would be...

Lucid Q1 Financials and Forward Looking

The Gravity launch issues are not as bad as the Air and the Air is selling better than any car in its class. I expect Gravity will do the same.

Lucid Q1 Financials and Forward Looking

I think that there is a lot of exaggeration in your "most of the time" statement. My software is very stable and it is very rare that it takes more than two seconds to unlock and even more rare to have seat or screen issues in my Air.
