Engineering Explained joining the Lucid Lemon Club

If a chip does not match its datasheet specs, is it wrongly designed or faulty? It seems to me that either term could apply.

Engineering Explained joining the Lucid Lemon Club

The basics of an inverter are control logic, gate driver and SiC MOSFETS. Take you pick on what component may be faulty. SiC is know to fail under certain conditions as well as needing some stress testing to prevent early life fails. Gate drivers and control circuits can put the SiC MOSFET in a...

Engineering Explained joining the Lucid Lemon Club

Faulty chis were a know issue with very early RDU failures. A software fix was used to prevent the situation that would cause a fail. It is not surprising the Emad would suspect a chip fail is the issue. Please tone down the someone lied rhetoric because it is against forum guidelines.

Dangerous Issue Using Dream Drive Pro

Its only on Gravity now but I hope it gets added to Air. It works well on Gravity.

    Unable to use my points

Are you on the rewards store or the regular store? You should be on the rewards store.

Car locked with child inside and would not unlock

This is simply not true. @marqie would not be active on the forum if Lucid did not care. @hmp10 would not get personal calls from Emad is Lucid did not care. Lucid clearly does care. This is not to say that Lucid should have improved the unlocking behavior of the Air by now. Even with that said...

    Ionna

There is one in Wilcox but that is a bit far to drive. There is one coming soon to Tempe and to Flagstaff. They should be here by the end of the year.

The best I have done is 398kW on Ionna in Beaver UT.

    CCS1 Adapter

That pin is a connection verification pin and is definitely needed. Gravity will charge just fine with this pin.

Home charing Kw deliverer from charged vs Car filled

How are you calculating your loss? It is normal for AC charging to have around 15% loss due to voltage boost and AC to DC conversion long with resistive losses in the wiring and battery. If it is hot out and the battery needs to be cooled that will also add to the loss.

My totally unsolicited idea on how to improve Lucid Service

I completely agree with this. Fix the quality at the factory so that service is not chasing these issues.

My totally unsolicited idea on how to improve Lucid Service

In Phoenix, Raintree can do both of these including the calibration.

TCU not being covered under warranty

The re-manufactured battery with equal or better capacity than the original is Lucid's standard practice. This is what they did for me when I had the battery replacement in my 2022 Air. I think this part of it is acceptable. I agree that the communication is not acceptable.

    How to get OTA updates

You do NOT need to be connected to WiFi to get an update as long as you have good cellular reception. That said, you may get the update sooner if you connect to WiFi.

    100,000 Miles!

I think Lucid fobs are less expensive than many other manufacturers but still more expensive than they should be. Good luck with it.

    "Conserve Mode" discussion

Both Gravity motors are permanent magnet motors and would have to be mechanically disconnected, Gravity does not have this. The motor inverter software is programmed to split varying torque and power between and rear and front motors to optimize efficiency depending on what the car is doing...

    Gravity Bugs / Issues

Some DC charging will not hurt your battery at all and in fact may be good for it. A lot of DC fast charging may degrade your battery a bit. Charging to 100% or storing you car in very hot temperatures will likely have a lot more impact on your battery life than DC fast charging. This is off...

Waze (AA) and built in Nav at the same time?

Not likely since you cannot do this in Gravity either.

This is the only prior case that I am aware of and it was also put of Scottsdale.

Is it me or the software ?

You are not going crazy, my Gravity does not do the easy exit part but does do the easy entry part.
