Rawlinson has said that they have "many thousands" of reservations. However, he didn't give any hints about how many are for the Dream Edition (which will be produced first) and how many for the models going into subsequent production. He also didn't indicate how many of those reservations were from outside the U.S., which I believe will be fulfilled only after American orders are met.
I don't remember where I saw it, but I did see a remark at the time Lucid lowered the reservation price from the Dream from $25,500 to $7,500 that suggested the reservations for the Dream Edition at that point were somewhere in the 400s. But I have no idea how accurate that might be.
My guess (and it's just that) is that if you can get to one of the Design Studios that will open by year end and find that you like the car, you could have one by the end of next summer if you want a Dream Edition or Grand Touring version.
If you're worried, you can put down a $1,000 reservation now to get in line and have it fully refunded if you decide not to go forward with an order. A couple of people on this forum have canceled their reservations and received their refunds promptly with little fuss.
