Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

Wow…and I mean it…new-found respect that you could bat that thoughtful responses out so quickly. Sure, I don’t agree with all, but that’s the point we’re here isn’t it?

These platforms take on a personal element that is at times totally irrelevant to the substance being discussed. At the same tIme that’s part of what attracts people …some are looking for friends, some looking for a fight…

I have a simple premise which is some here are giving management a pass on issues that management Itself shouldn’t…and I hope, isn’t. The easy route is to not call it out… the other route is to call it out and “ suffer the slings and arrows”…

In the end it’s just a car and not nearly a cause over which to make (even anonymous) enemies …I think I’ll move on from here to a place where skeptics aren’t bashed…Bitcoin.?😊

in the end none of this will likely influence LCD management to change course, because the advocates of change are shouted down
On the contrary, like I said, thousands of posts to get through, but you can find plenty of instances of various levels of Lucid management taking direct feedback from owners. It may not necessarily be on this forum, even though they do get information from here, but mostly they get it directly from owners by having the service people we directly interact with convey the messages up the chain. I know that plenty of us had lengthy conversations with employees and several of us have been called by Lucid Corporate to discuss various experiences.

Any idea what the numbers represent, I assume not sequential for the number of Lucid Airs produced? I see 1565, 2274, 2995 - no way they made almost 3,000 cars, right?
I get one of those cards on my car everytime it's in service. I think it's just a way to track the cars while service was doing PDI

Congrats, let us know when you pick it up!

It may be true that DAs are no longer allowed to give any information about possible windows of VIN assignment or deliveries. I sent an email to my DA a week ago asking if they had any ideas on when my VIN might be assigned—my order was confirmed March 1. I received no response. I can understand why Lucid may want to stop offering any projections on VINs or deliveries, but to simply not respond to a customer's question doesn't seem like a way to build confidence and goodwill.

I agree with you. Human nature is such that when communication ceases, people will always fill in the gap with negative info. The answer to incorrect information is never no information.

Lucid management should try their new communication approach with their spouses. They should tell their wifes/husbands that they will be home by 10:00 PM and at 2:00 AM send their spouse’s calls to voicemail, with the excuse that they didn’t want to provide an incorrect timeline, so decided to provide no explanation at all.

A company that was formed 5 years ago, has raised billions In multiple financing rounds, has gone public and has a market value of $30 billion is simply not a startup.

The burden was on Lucid not to release cars that didn’t meet the quality standards they set for themselves. The burden is not on the buyer to be content with a car whose quality is less than the standard Lucid set for themselves.
You and I will agree to disagree! Do you own a Lucid or have one on order?

wait...isn't this what all husbands do already? 🤣:p🤐😈

Delivery Update - It looks like I will retain the username "PAUSED" for a while yet. My delivery scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed. I was just informed that the car would not take a charge prior to loading on a truck to head north from Riviera Beach to Charlotte. I was also told they have no estimate for when it might actually be delivered. Sound familiar???

While I am glad they found it at Riviera Beach, it is still quite troublesome.

Unfortunately, I was stupid enough to arrange the sale of my BMW M5 for the day after the Lucid delivery. I now have to reschedule that and it will, most likely, mean a decrease in price from the place I arranged the sale with.

Oh no! I am so sorry!

Hey, it's just par for the course. I am not sure why I thought it might actually deliver without incident. The delivery guy got an earful, nothing personal, but an earful regardless, more about why his news came of no great shock or surprise. Eight months and counting...

That really sucks! Sorry to hear that. Hopefully they can resolve the issue quickly and get it on the next truck to the east coast.

My car is on the east coast at Riviera Beach. It has been there for over 10 days. It was done with PDI and ready to be shipped a week ago. The earliest they could arrange transport was tomorrow from Riviera Beach to Charlotte. They are troubleshooting it now, but will have to find another transport once they have resolved the issues.

Bummer. But as you said, better that they discovered the problem before delivery.

I actually (surprise, surprise) received a call from my DA today. My car is still in the factory with fit / finish issues.
At least they have told you why they are keeping your car. I can't even get that information.
