And you thought Lucid was the only company with software issues…

Apple just released a new beta of Xcode, the app all developers use to make Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Apple Watch apps. But installing it immediately renders the stable version of Xcode incapable of building any of your projects.

Deleting all versions of Xcode and reinstalling the stable version doesn't fix it.

So basically, every Apple developer who was curious about the new beta today is now unable to work on any shipping products. At least not without wiping their hard drive or buying a new laptop. Or waiting for Apple to notice it and release a fix.

Don't ask why I know this…

And we want to rush carplay because...lol j/k it should be stable right?

To Apple's credit, they only hosed their entire developer community, not the bulk of their customers.

As we in the community know, Apple's priorities are always:

- Apple
- Apple's Customers
- Apple's Developers

In that order.

This isn’t quite and accurate statement and a novice take on what happens in BETA Xcode software. Simulators just have a tooling path that’s fairly easy to fix.

/me professional iOS developer evaluating the FordPass app in Xcode 14 beta 3 as we speak…

Anyways, poor take and bad comparison.

This has nothing to do with Simulators. It’s a confirmed major bug with the beta release of Xcode today. All XIB files and Storyboards are hosed, and building with Xcode 13.4.1 becomes impossible.

Literally every developer I know is running into this today. But sure. We’re all novices.

Check your facts before you post. I’ve been doing this for a living for decades.

So have I… I’m not the one who tried to make a crack post comparing beta Xcode software to Lucid software. It’s in poor taste. Thats ignoring the logistics on the profession itself. But yes, you are presenting yourself as a novice in this forum right now.

Thanks @joec for bringing this new found bug to our attention. Thank you @thecodingart for letting us know another POV. Locking this thread before it devolves anymore!
